Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but why? He gets a free target lock every time he rolls die, as long as there's another target lock on his intended target.

As it is written, this would only ever deal one damage. Is that what you meant, or did you mean:

Cannon slot: 2pts
Dice: 2
Range: 1-3
Attack: Perform this attack 3 times. Each time it hits, cancel all dice results and deal 1 damage to the defender.

If so, this would waste low agility ships. Any hope for things with agi less than 3 would die. Fast. The only thing keeping stuff like B-wings on the table would be the fact that they were carrying it (G1-a's would become extinct - no cannon slot). Epic ships (already much preyed upon by TLT) would be history - except Bright hope. The amount of hate on this forum would be almost worth seeing!

It’s the same wording as tactician and works there.

how about:

Destroyer-class Nuke: All ships on the board receive 20 damage cards, unless you are the player that fired the ship.

See? That is how you get those pesky turret meta ships...
