Dragons are not music lovers.

We recently played a game using the "Attempted Breakthrough" scenario. The goblin player took the fire dragon as his creature. About two turns into the game, the dwarf player used his red dwarf bagpipe player to attack the fire dragon. He scored three hits (1 ignored because of bravery). That poor dragon, sitting only one hex from the edge of the board, had to retreat six hexes. So, of course, he had to roll a four dice crit check.

He survived the check, but we couldn't stop laughing about the image it put into our minds. Four little dwarves rocking the bagpipes forced the big nasty dragon to flee in terror.

I love the musical units in this game gran_risa.gif I love that the Dragon antidote is a red bagpipe. Imagine if that blast had been added by a Wizard...

Um, hits are different than flags. The 3 hits would be actually one critical hit roll.

And the hits nor critical hit roll wouldn't cause the dragon to retreat.

Cab

Nematode could certainly answer this, but what happened was that the red bagpipes rolled a combination of three flag, red helm, and/or bonus strike results - one of them was able to be ignored, but two could not, resulting in a retreat of six hexes. One hex was taken, but then the other 5 resulted in hits. First 2 hits for the first critical check, and one each for the remaining 3 hexes - total of 4d for the critical check (a 50/50 proposition :) ).

Thanks Toddrew, I didn't think to clarify the bagpipe's special ability when I made the original post.

This is awesome! A hilarious and ignoble end to an otherwise terrifying beast. Who would have thought the simple bagpipe should be regarded as 'basic' gear when it comes to efforts of Dragon slaying!

Cheers,

Giles.

Not sure why really, but I imagine a very strong highland accent when I read your posts. Cheers!

Ha! Sadly an Australian accent is not as cool! :(

:D

Cheers,

Giles.

I've heard you on the Dice Tower mate! You've got one of the thickest "strine" accents I've ever heard.

P.S.- And bear in mind that this is coming from another Aussie too!

Ha!

Well I have to be recognisably Aussie, otherwise what would be the point of an Australian contributor? gui%C3%B1o.gif

Plus, it can't possibly be as thick as a touring Aussie comedian or a travel show presenter??? sorpresa.gif
