In the past, I've played a 3-player game that worked pretty well, where we each played 67 points. It was really fun, and about the right length, as it uses about the same number of points as a standard game.
Me and my wife were going to play, and my friend ended up joining us, but my wife really wanted to fly Kylo in the Silencer with Hux in the upsilon, what I should have done is stick to this and keep the points to 70, 75 at most. But, I ended up doing 100 pts a side. this probably wouldn't be a big deal, but they were 100 non-optimalized points. I'm the only one of us that plays on a regular basis. my friend Tim plays against me now and again, and Andria plays once every 3-4 months. So I didn't want to use top meta lists. Just try to make it fun.

I started in the middle of one side, time started 3/4 of the way up my left side, andria started 3/4 of the way up my right side. I have unkar and the thug bank left to engage tim, and send drea and sunny to engage Andria. Andria turns kylo and the shuttle towards me, and sends zeta leader at tim. Tim turns all 3 x-wings towards me, but discovers that he set up his ships with the highest ps at the front of the conga line and his lowest ps at the rear. combat, kylo takes sonny's shield, sunny takes a shield from kylo.
second turn, I put the thug as far up as I can, so I can try to catch his trailing x-wings without getting all of them. I wanted to keep the quadjumper at a distance, so I set the dial to a one straight, later shifting it to a 1 bank R. when I revealed the dial, I quickly remembered that the quad has a 1 straight, and a 1 turn, but no 1 bank! so he does the 1 turn, and not wanting to waste time, decides he'll make an approach towards the first order forces. due to bumping, jess gets left behind, because he tried to fit her between his other T70's, and got bumped back to her starting spot almost. Blue ace is able to bb-8 to the outside, and come up 3 straight. I think snap 4 k's. the thug takes some minor heat, dishes out the same. Zeta plucks a couple shields off of jess with a broadside. drea starts her game-defining role of stalking the shuttle. Sunny 5k's, can't remember if she shoots the shuttle or kylo.
Kylo starts coming around my side of the board, chased by sunny, while the quad was aiming towards the center of the board a little over range 2 from the edge. I but in a reverse bank and dump the cluster mines. Kylo comes screaming in, bumping unkar, who gives him a tractor token, so I barrel roll kylo onto 2 of the cluster mine tokens. (for only 1 damage total)
On the other side of the board, blue ace and snap kill off the thug, zeta leader and the shuttle kill blue ace. snap kills zeta leader. Jess is starting to harass drea as she follows the shuttle. Drea finished off the shuttle, then Jess finishes off drea. kylo and snap put some damage into the quad, which dies soon. Sunny gets into range 1 of kylo, firing her primary weapon, and rolls 3 hits, adds a hit. kylo rolls one evade, just enough to blow him up.
The game is down to a Sunny with 2 hull, a 2 hp jess, and a 3 hp snap. I was able to ion snap towards a rock, down to 2 hp, and he'll have to turn away to avoid the rock, able to evade a shot by jess. Next turn, me and jess are playing chicken. we end up trading a few shots, and I eventually am able to take jess out before snap is back in the action

so me and snap are facing off, I know his 2 best options are a 1 straight and a 4 K. I go one straight, and barrel roll, but don't quite come up far enough, so when he reveals the 1 straight, he makes it, takes me off the board.
Hilarious game, lots of screw-ups, and funny interactions. I found that the quadjumper is really fun. I thought it would be an appliance, but its actually pretty cool. I like making a beeping noise when revealing a reverse maneuver. sunny, of course, is really fun, because you never know when you're going to get 4 hits or 5 evades or what.
things were a bit tedious until ships started dying. but we'll know better next time.
