Idea for new Armada Campaign

By strikenowhere, in Star Wars: Armada

Hey guys,

Someone may have already come up with this, but I really think this would be a cool idea if it had some thought put into it - a dedicated two player campaign story! The idea here would be that there would be a narrative story arc (similar to Imperial Assault) where two players (one Imperial, one Rebel) would battle it out over the course of a 10+ mission campaign. There would be a branching narrative, so depending on who wins in each mission the plot would advance down a different bath for the Imperials or Rebels, leading to multiple playthroughs.

In addition to the branching storylines, each mission would provide upgrade points to refit/fix your existing fleet. Certain mission rewards could be new squadrons/ships/upgrades/upgrade points that get added to your pool that you'd select from for each mission.

I would think something like this would be great for just two players to go through as it can be tough to get a 4/6 player CC campaign going consistently for some people. The story itself could potentially start of at the evacuation of Yavin and branch out from there depending on which side wins each mission.

I would imagine this could be pretty cheap for FFG to develop as its basically just a campaign booklet. Maybe they could throw in some new ship titles/upgrades/squadrons as well as a value-add.

What do you think?

I'm running something Very similar to this with a couple of friends. I'll probably post something in the battle reports after they finish their first game. I would Love something official in this format though.
