Which expansions are alternate sculpt?

By ScummyRebel, in Star Wars: Legion

From what I can tell, the speeder bike expansion has different sculpts than the core set (or at least one sculpt different).

All the trooper packs look to be the same sculpt as their core set counterparts.

Is there any variation to the models (by the cards) found in expansions beyond the speeder bike?

I think the atrt was a different pose too.

AT-RT has a different guy on top of it.

One Speeder Bike rider is trying to be a cowboy and shoot someone while not looking in front of him.

That's it as far as I know.

To be fair, one of the scout troopers on Endor does shoot at Leia with his pistol while not looking at the road. I mean, he crashes and dies trying to look behind him to see if she died though so obviously that's the model I'm removing first for casualties.

I'm just gonna chop his head into a forward direction lol good soldiers don't need to aim while they look

Not when their main goal is laying down suppressing fire in a direction that they know doesn't have any allies.

You may not need to. Do we know if the heads are attached? Has anyone seen the unassembled minis or sprue anywhere? Im curious now lol

Heads are attached in all the photos/unboxings/painting instructions I've seen. No sprues, just baggies.

Well on one hand less snipping.. too bad the heads are on, harder to kitbash troopers without helmets oh well. Some units like snowtroopers would be difficult to cast that way i guess.

What is even worse for kitbashing is the arms are all apparently a peg system, with each pair being a slightly differently shaped peg, so it's not even like arm swaps are easy. <_< No Duros Specialists without moderate amounts of modifiaction it seems.

snip the peg, fill the hole, use better glue......... i wouldn't call that moderate by any stretch for anyone used to sprues. Head swaps on the otherhand, that's going to be a challenge (mainly getting the old head off without damaging the model and at an angle that can make the replacement look good).

Depending on how the shoulders are molded, different arms may not look natural or not fit without sanding or trimming. Or if the connection part of the arm is rounded, sanding is required. Plus since most of the arms and guns are a single unit, different torso widths can also cause extra work to get a natural look.

Edit: The Duros also seems to have a decent angle to his torso. I'll have a better idea of what is required when I have the models in hand. Photos only tell so much of the story.

I too strive for max theme which is why my Stormies will roll blank dice only.

Im limiting myself to just a few packs of each trooper expansion. Holding out hope for alternate sculpt packs. Honestly ill probably end up using green stuff. Cant possibly be as bad as assembling a GW sisters of battle penitant engine.. lol

One of the reasons i'm really not concerned by buying 2 cores. Fully expect at least 1 squad to end up in the parts bin.

This is very true, i can tell this isn't your first table top minature wargame lol. Im fairly certain i can make like 3 full squads of space marines from my bits..

Heck, I'm in the process of planning out a Partisan army for Bolt Action to use up the miscellaneous bits I have left over from various projects.

I play Soviets and did this exact thing to make my People's Militias.

In Sorastro's painting video, you can see that one (and only one) of the Rebel troopers has a separate head that needs gluing. Of course, there's no built-in interchangeability unless they offer a new sculpt with a different head.

Well if ewoks get released ill only buy them if i can swap on stormtrooper heads..
