What implications for star wars gaming especially Legion, do you guys think, do the solo trailers bring to the table?

Since the movie seems to be all about criminals and the empire, I guess it would be the perfect opportunity to bring in a third faction(scum) into Legion early on, like runewars did. The film will put those criminal elements of the star wars universe directly in the spotlight and the give them the attention of a larger audience (outside of China?). The balance of the game would also profit from all factions being released (or at least designed) close to the systems launch, to avoid the power problems Scum gave X-wing. The empire might also get a few possibilities for new units. We know of at least two trooper types (with one of them seemingly being only a repainted stormtrooper) and a speeder bike. The only problem is that the rebels don't seem to be present.

To briefly address the rest of star wars gaming: X-Wing seems to get a few new toys at some point: The new TIE (good for them they were running out of cool/viable imperial ships to be released) and the new old falcon for Scum(probably). Because of it seemingly(based on the teasers) features neither any new large ships nor any war, I guess it won't be a great source for Armada or Battlefront II.

For Legion, probably the Patrol Trooper.

Patrol trooper, mimban trooper, new gangers, Kessel guards.. I think some new heist objectives might be cool.

I think this movie would fit better with IA actually

We probably won't see stuff added from this for awhile. There's still a lot that can be added from the OT as well as Rogue One that would fit better in the theme of the game. The only possibility is they add a third Scum & Villainy faction but that'll be way off.

Yes, but the mouse may demand a movie tie in release, and theres probably more new content for legion than x-wing

Thanks to the Lego leaks, we know that Solo could be providing us with the Mimban Trooper, Patrol Trooper, and Range Trooper. The EW article released yesterday also showed a bunch of imperial officers/imperial army troopers in a trench that they dubbed "mud troopers". Unfortunately, due to the nature of the movie, I have a feeling it will be full of shiny new things for Imperials and Scum - but not Rebels.

That's going to be the real challenge for FFG to balance the game. You can do 10 waves of Imperial stuff alone but there's slim pickings for the Rebels. Rogue One can add the cast, Scarif Pathfinders and Saw's Partisans. A New Hope can add maybe X-wing pilots. We're getting Hoth troopers so maybe they can add the Bespin Wing Guard with Lando, and with ROTJ we got Rebel troopers already. It seems like FFG (maybe with direction from Lucasfilm) aren't bringing out much EU stuff anymore. It boils down for every Light Side character there's 3-4 Dark Side characters you can add.
