You can, as the name suggests, replace the original signature pair with the new ones, or you can add them all in! But that does mean your starting deck has three weaknesses in it.

You can't mix-and-match. You can use the original signature & weakness, the Replacement signature & weakness, or both sets.
This is the exact text from Norman's rule card:

When building a deck, you may choose to replace the specific cards listed under "Deckbuilding Requirements" with all of that investigator's Replacement cards. Wonder when we'll get Norman's 'original' cards and Mary is also seemingly coming in a new set? I doubt either are in Age it makes no sense.

Marie might be in Forgotten Age still. But yeah, given he's officially a Seeker and they've already revealed one, Norman will most likely not be.

The first three were every other month. Carolyn's is a pre-order. Are we expecting this in two months? If they are every other month, then we'll have all of the original Arkham Horror (52) characters in 9 years. Plus we have 7 additional:
That bumps it to 10 years, assuming that both A) no more are released, and B) they write one for each of them.

Loving the optimism! If they prove popular there’s no reason to think we won’t see more beyond these first five. Late April would seem like a good bet for the release date of To Fight the Black Wind.
I'm holding out hope that they'll start to release the novellas monthly, so we actually having a chance of getting through all the major investigators before the game gets too old. I know the original runs of the first two sold out immediately, so the financials have to look pretty darn good for this product line.

There's actually 48 original plus the seven you listed, for a total of 55 characters. EH has all 55, Elder Sign 54, and AH 48 (49 if you count Calvin's original appearance).

I could swear that Matt Newman said on one of the podcasts that they're up to 79 or 80. But maybe that included non-investigator characters (allies, flavor text, etc).

Could be. By my count, there are currently 32 named Unique Asset allies in EH. Not sure how many other named characters have showed up elsewhere (if any).

That's probably why they switched to announcing for pre-orders with Caroline instead of just waiting to announce until they're available like they've been doing.

Because when they did the big coffee table book recently that's how many they had at the time and how many are in that book.

The Unique Allies are mostly cameos from actual Mythos works. He might have been talking about the side characters from the original Arkham Horror, like Father Michael and Sheriff Engle.
Silas Marsh has been announced as being the investigator involved in The Deep Gate. Anyone care to speculate on why this announcement is so close to the Carolyn Fern one? I wasn't expecting any more novella news for another six weeks or so.
Silas himself looks very interesting, lots of skill card manipulation and a skill-based weakness!

Either FFG is very happy with how they're selling and has accelerated the release schedule, or they just wanted to get the last of the initial 5 books out quickly, since the titles were spoiled ages ago anyway.
