Let's be honest, we're all space nerds here. Be sure to watch through the end, there is some actual real-life Buck Rogers shenanigans in this video.

Any news on the central core yet? Watched the livestream and was actually surprised the thing didn't blow up. I think one of the last remnants of our civilization will a Tesla roadster?
I've been watching for an update--haven't seen anything on it yet.

Apparently 2 braking engines didn’t fire and it hit the water at 300mph. Debris damaged the drone ship.
2/3 isn't bad for a ship that only had a 50% chance of not blowing up on the pad
Nah, minimal chance of pad explosion.
The synchronized landing was the most impressive part.
Big screwup with the Roadster: too much third stage thrust, and it's missing Mars and shooting way out! Best part is official NASA orbital info: unpredictable future orbit due to unmodeled solar radiation, heating, and outgassing effects.
I got to see all three of those boosters while they were being constructed and readied. They're very cool. Really neat part is that all of the engines plug into a circular "Octoweb", which then just plugs into the end of the rocket body. Makes assembly much faster and easier. It's scary and impressive when they roll the Octoweb past the coffee/frozen yogurt bar and down the central hall of the assembly plant. (Literally, the (free) coffee/yogurt bar is diagonally across from rocket motor assembly. The other corners of the intersection are mission control and composites assembly. When you see all of the people cheering in front of mission control, the camera is pressed up against the counter where the sprinkles are for the frozen yogurt. Yes, I'm obsessed with the frozen yogurt--or at least the kid was.)
