Game of Thrones creators will do a Star Wars film series
Hopefully they'll keep the ****, incest, and nudity out of it.
Interesting. Although they’re really lining up a lot of movies.
I’d actually much rather see them do a Star Wars HBO series, but I’m not sure Disney wants the brand to creep into rated R.

Hopefully not.
Metal bikinis and slave dancers are a lost art.

And what’s a Star Wars movie without a little sister kissing?

It’s different if you don’t know vs growing up together and full on knowing you are both sides blood related. Plus a single kiss is a far cry from what brothers and sisters do in GOT. I’m all for an edgier star wars with out care bears and moon beams but Disney will draw hard lines no doubt.
Interesting. I'll be looking forward to hearing the details later on. I hope they're given an unusual setting to really expand the lore of the universe.

I suppose the sarcasm emoji should be invented, but I assumed from the context you’d get it was a joke. My bad.
Anyhow don’t blame D&D for incest in GOT. That’s squarely on dirty old man GRRM.
I sincerely hope that future SW films thread a fine line between gritty and fun. At its heart SW should be fun.

Given how hard the Mouse has worked for cultural diversity and female empowerment in casting, I highly doubt this a road they will go down.

Male nudity instead.
STAR WARS OVERLOOOOAD!!!!
I seriously wish there was LESS content. Partially because of quality concerns, and partially because it’s just a bit more special that way.

But obi-wan knew and said nothing (thank you prequels for opening plot holes instead of closing them), plus there should have been the whole force sense-connection thing to point it out.......
Edited by RalgonDang, I just posted about this. Your fast!

Maybe there was... hence they kissed. They are young 18 year olds, one grew up in the desert, the other as an active diplomat. Probably not a tonne of experience with sexy stuff. They felt a connection of some sorts, they just didn't know where to put it.
And then Leia wanted to piss Solo off. She would've kissed anyone probably... Women eh?

There will be a live action series on the new Disney streaming service.
Doubt it will be anywhere as adult as the stuff on HBO. But if they use the scripts for the underworld series Lucas started working on and was just waiting on the cost to go down it should be good. It was supposed to be darker and more adult than the movies and animated shows.
Who thinks this will be set in the Old Republic Era?
I bet Fantasy Flight already has either expansions or new games on the early stages of the drawing board.
Old Republic setting for Imperial Assault anyone?

Certainly possible. Lots of good stuff to explore in that era and a big enough galaxy to have the fate of some worlds in the balance actually matter.

To me THIS is key.
While I want to see things familiar and belonging to the Star Wars Galaxy, I want there to be new ground and unique story threads to explore.
Let the anthology films have our throwbacks in the Rebellion era, those look to be in good hands for now.
There are a thousand, thousand worlds. Let these showrunners have their own new playground.
My concern on this is that they are apparently planning more 'Episode' movies after 9, they have given Rian Johnson his own trilogy (distinct from those), and now these guys are said to be given their own movie series distinct from either of the above.
What the heck? Are they maybe thinking of just alternating them out a bit more so each group gets a movie every third year instead of every other year? Or....???

That was all from the demented mind of George RR Martin haha.
I really liked the (latest) season of GoT they wrote and produced on their own without Martin's books as a gospel reference. Obviously he was still involved for the overall story, but that would be the case with LFL too.
It could be good for Star Wars.

Too late.
Twins from a long time ago, in a galaxy far away.

I absolutely agree. There is enough room in the Star Wars Galaxy for many great sagas without stepping all over each other. So many races and cultures that I would love to delve more into, and still room for more new ones.

Even if I loved KOTOR and KOTOR2, I don't like the Old Republic setting...
The staled technology for 4000 years makes no sense (specially because you do see the technological advancements through the short spam of the OT).

I really can't imagine Disney letting them stray too far from "the formula", but...I mean, yeah. It's a galaxy that is at least as wide in immediate scale as the Star Trek universe, but with many thousands of years more "advanced, spacefaring civilization"-level history. There is no reason that this can't be all kinds of awesome...although it does almost make one want to see it handled as a TV series where they can develop longer arcs and toss in the occasional "filler episode" (which are usually anything but , if you are interested in the characters and background, and don't require SFX to be entertained).

I agree Star Wars don't need to be about the Skywalkers. It's a big galaxy, after all.
For chronology, there is an interesting period just after the OT that we still know little about.
