I am running Ghosts of Dathomir right now and we just got done with Act I. We saved Walisi and he was stabilized by our medic but he is still unconscious. I just started reading Act II and now I'm confused. I thought Walisi was part of the Gorensla kajidic and now they seem to be thanking the PCs by... Blackmailing them? I don't understand. Did I miss something?

You missed the fact that the Hutts are scumbags that'll literally sell out their own children just to make a buck.

Working for a specific Hutt will get you shafted by their enemies. Some Hutts will even work that to their advantage. "So...you did the job for me. Very good. Here is the payment, as promised. Of course, my enemies have now become your enemies, too."

Or "You rescued him, but he was badly injured in the attempt. Those medical bills are going to be expensive...so to cover the cost, here's what your going to do for me......"

Never run a module as written?

I'm not much of a fan of the Ghosts module, I find the motives and timing to be off for most of the NPCs, like it's trying to cram too many concepts or story arcs into one book. The only thing you can do is make it your own.
