Rey

I don't quite get her card, does it means that every round u have a focus no matter what?

just got it, don't answer. sorry

... do what the card says, don't do what it doesn't say.

Functionally, it means you can store up several rounds' worth of focus tokens, and release them over future rounds.

It has three major uses:

- getting double actions. You slow-roll into the engagement and build a nice big pile of tokens, then go in and take other actions (TL, reposition, whatever) and still have a focus token to use.

- getting double focus - you can use it to get multiple focus tokens which can be useful in some contexts.

- keeping unused focus tokens - at the end of the combat if you took a focus and DIDN'T use it from this or from your normal action, it's not wasted.

I also think there's a neat combo with Jan Ors crew meaning that you can bank a bunch of focus tokens and decide at the start of combat whether you want to pick focus or evade from Rey, but if you're doing that, C-3PO might be better.

Hey watch how many people are about to answer even though he said not to...

Actually, it doesn't work because you cannot SLAM as a free action.

He's right you know, but stripping a Target Lock with Black One helps.

Honestly I saw the post and decided to go ahead anyway because I was halfway through and it's an interesting card, and we don't often have meaningful positive discussions of tactics for specific game elements here.

Another great use for Rey is if you bump a ship or fly over an asteroid or get a stress from red maneuvers or debris, if you’ve got a focus on Rey (1st Focus Bank of Jakku) you can get a focus anyway at the start of combat.
