Agreed. The game would instantly lose all appeal for me if FFG released Ewoks. It would also lose credibility as being a competitor with 40k.

"Do you want the giant guns or do you want care bears?"

Ewoks are a plausible corps or special forces unit for the rebels before “giant guns”. It’s not like the Death Star is going to be a unit.

There is absolutely no reason for Ewoks to be introduced into Legion, except for fanbois who will cry until it happens.

No reason other than: These are a group of militants who fought in the most important and decisive battle of the entire GCW?

If it’s between them and some rando twi’lek group that has no movie recognition, it’s going to be Ewoks all the way. That just makes sense.

No it doesn't. If Legion is meant to depict the struggle of the GCW, Ewoks were there for 1 battle. Twileks are a much better addition.

They aren't militants. They are a primitive native culture on a moon that worships C3PO and get swept up in the coming battle.

But like I said, fanboys will cry until they are introduced.

I personally DESPISE Ewoks and really only want them in-game to obliterate them with stormtroopers.

Also, do Twi'leks EAT PEOPLE? NO? Then ewoks are better.

Yea let's reduce this potentially awesome game into Stormtroopers and Ewoks.

But I've already spoken my piece and have nothing else to add.

You guys know that if FFG release something you're not obliged to purchase it? Hate Ewoks? Great. Don't guy them. Love Ewoks? Great buy them lol

Alas everyone will use Ewoks just to spite Undeadguy, thus ruining the game for him. ?

But they are so cute :(

Well, there was at least ONE Twi'lek....:P

I don't see how releasing an Ewok unit would reduce the game to Stormtroopers vs Ewoks any more than releasing a Twi'lek unit would reduce it to Stormtroopers vs Twi'leks.

Ewoks were present at one of the only GCW battles we've seen on-screen. It makes perfect sense for FFG to release them as an option - especially when several of the units released already are distinctly Endor inspired. That being said, I would hope FFG releases them as support units and with stats that make sense. Seeing Ewok spam/powergaming would kind of kill the feel of the game for me as well.

True. But there is the whole idea that you may not have another expansion for your army until the next expansion 4-6 months down the line. Thanks FFG.

The point is that there is so much stuff that is better and more suited to the game. Rebel commandos, death troopers, scout troopers, shore troopers, partisans, sand troopers... There is so much better that ffg could be doing. Players in bolt action could very well ask for new Guinea tribesmen armed with Spears but if they hadn't even released us rangers yet it would be a huge middle finger to the player base.

Ewoks are stupid but I love them.

Star Wars is stupid but I still love it.

Also Ewoks fight things that are way scarier and effective than storm troopers and AT-ST. They developed their fighting style defending against giant monsters. An at-st is just a slower monster that does not see it coming.

The things understand the basics of flight. They are stone cold monsters that don’t bat an eye at eating other intelligent creatures.

But all that said I think Ewoks are more at home in imperial assault. I would hate to see an imp player in tears after I smash their finely painted troopers with a bunch of teddy bears.

I can't believe there's been FOUR pages about adding Ewoks to the game... <_<

Well, we have to entertain ourselves somehow. Not like we can hold a useful discussion of rules, or show off how we have painted our Legion minis. :D

You only listed 1 Rebel unit and 1 anti-Imperial unit. This is the problem with Rebels (well one of many concerning those terrorists) is they do not have the diversity of the awesome Imperial troops, so I think we will see Ewoks sooner rather than later, but hopefully as a special unit so you can only take 1-2 groups max.

Rebel honor guard, wookies, rebel Pathfinders (r1), rebel saboteurs, rebel heavy infantry, rebel jet troopers...

Partisans (which were initially listed), Rebel Vanguard, the ground vehicles from Empire at war...

Edit: Other species specific units, such a Bothans, Mon Cal, or Twi'leks.

I think you could have some fun with Ewoks in a limited role, Ewok on Glider, jumping off tall terrain, (range 3 when gliding of height 2 terrain, range 1 when normal), and dropping rocks on troops (strafe), some sort of temporary stun? Ewok catapult, smooshing by boulder, could you imagine Vader getting taken out by an Ewok boulder could be epic.

I am good with or without them, I want to blow them up vs play them, but they also have screen time that could trump a lot of the other rebel units. FFG has been weird on what they represent from the source material. X-Wing and the Card Game has OT, ST, R1, Rebels and a ton of EU. Armada and Imperial Assault has OT, Rebels and a touch of EU. Destiny has everything. Time will tell what the introduce for Legion. I hope they introduce everything, but I doubt we see any PT stuff.

Unless they are fighting post ROTJ the number of free Wookiee’s is a few dozen AFAIK

Can always hope, as the Clone and droid armies have lots of interesting units already in existence.

For a ground based War game the PT is by far the best option in the SW universe, but the mouse doesn't seem too interested in acknowledging their existence. The PT would not be that interesting in X-Wing but in Legion it would be awesome.

Notably, many PT characters have been added to Destiny, and all of those cards do still need to go through Disney for approval.
