Non-Movement Question

By DeepOneRisen, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

According to the rule book an investigator must evade or fight a monster when they "attempt to leave" a location or street area or if they "end" their movement in a location or street area. Must they fight or evade the monster if they choose not to move from the location or street area that they share with a monster or monsters?

Yes. They're ending their movement in the location they started in.

Thank you. I knew I was right. Just kidding.

;') that's what all us Arkhamaniacs say. Just kidding.

Are you sure I can trust you or should I wait for Tibs, Dam, or Coltsfan to answer my question?

... though it'd be pretty funny if every monster in Arkham operated on this principle (pardon the poor quality). Actually, that would be an interesting item effect. Should be noted, Old Hooker is yellow border and Nightmarish 2.

::laughter:: on this one, pretty sure. Not 100% ;') but 99.8. I read the monster movement sections pretty carefully a couple years ago (when I found out I was making a major monster movement mistake).

Yeah, you're still there with the monster. You may not be trying to leave, and you may not be settling down after having just entered, but you still need to try and avoid the monster (Evade) or face it head-on.

The cover you attempted in a previous round will be insufficient, and you'll need to seek new cover as the Thing roams around trying to find you.
