SO I am really close to going all in on this, but what are the chances we will get Ewoks?
Really Close to Buying but....
Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.
The star wars magic 8 ball would say something vague and neutral.
Wookies on the other hand.... are almost a definite
Mate, the issue is they are planet specific. Native to Endor
They never became part of the Rebellions forces. same could be said for Sandpeople
Now Tauntauns could have been imported/exported as a scout mount, same with Dewbacks for Stormies.

Tauntauns were a lizard only native to Hoth, and as such it is doubtful a creature adjusted for the extreme cold of an ice world would do well in other environments. In the old EU, they would become homesick if taken offworld to other cold climates of planets and become unruly.
Likewise dewbacks were a lizard only native to Tatooine, and would become lethargic in colder temperatures, restricting their use solely to Tatooine as a cost saving measure since the sandy environment was hard on mechanical transportation.
To be fair, Snowtroopers are a specialized form of Stromtrooper, yet presumably nothing in the rules prevents them from being fielded side by side/to a specific type of battleground, so it doesn't seem FFG is artificially restricting themselves due to training/climate preferences.
Ewoks and Sandpeople were primitive cultures with either no interest in space travel, or little concept of it. That hasn't stopped FFG from including Sandpeople in IA, but IF they were to include them I would expect them as part of a "scum" faction.
The Ewoks are very divisive, so I am uncertain if FFG would want to include them in that regard, not for sake of only appearing on one planet.
As many have said...my snow troopers will be marines. Painted similar to clone variants.

Ditto. Of course I'll have to figure something out if they actually release a Clone wars army with the marine variant. I'll probably use blues for the snowtroopers instead of maroon/dark red.

So, like any rational person what you are really saying is: "I am really close to buying as long as they keep Ewoks out of this"?
I doubt we will see ewoks they aren't really part of the rebellion and only live on endor.
Wookie commandos would be good though
I think it depends on how popular the game becomes. If it last for years and years with a very strong following I think Ewoks are inevitable.
Considering my table/paintjobs and army themes are going to be endor based yeah I kinda hope we do get Ewoks, but they should be a special or limited squad. I don't think they should be the core makeup of an army.
Just buy in and not worry about the Ewoks or not.

i hope they do bring them in, because my Imperials would love to put them down.

I disagree with the second portion of your argument against ewoks as we already have evidence of FFG not caring about that, both in IA (Sandpeople and Jawas, yes they were added in an Tatooine expansion, they are not really restricticted as far as I know), and in Legion with the Snowtroopers, a Stormtrooper regiment specialising only in cold conditions.
That's not to say I really care either way about ewoks, and FFG will add them or not, as they decide.
While I have no particular problem with ewoks as a species in the star wars universe, I don't really feel the need for them to take up a release slot that could be occupied by wookies, partisans, scout troopers, rebel commandoes, mandalorians, Royal guards, death troopers, sand troopers, rebel honor guard, gammorean warriors, weequay pirates, bespin guards, refurbished battle droids, etc... Now if they are thinking of releasing gungans... I will take the ewoks.

What, you don't want to have an entire unit with Ion weapons? ![]()

Ugh... I try not to be a prequel hater but I draw the line at gungans...

I agree up until you get to gammorean warriors and pirates, the ewoks as a unit would fit right in with the contents of the core box. Which with its speeder bikes and composition is more suited to an Endor skirmish to begin with. But as far as 2018 goes i'd much rather see the rebel commandos from scarif or even hoth troopers with a slight stat change, imperial scout troopers with sniper rifles, death troops and scarif troops, an E web weapon squad that moves slow and has to deploy, not too far off from cadian weapon teams from 40k. I don't want to see royal guards, as they only guarded the emperor and aren't really a unit that makes much sense. Now if they did an emperor expansion and they had those as his retinue (they have to stay in coherency, maybe 2-3 of them total) then it could work. There is also potential with probe droids as a unit as well.
But I think Ewoks would make a good tarpit unit, send them ahead to tie up enemy troopers in melee or slow them down from reaching objectives. They shouldn't be very capable fighters but good fodder.

You have about 7 waves of stuff there, so lets be generous and double what you have.
Ewoks would be fine come about wave 15. ![]()

I would rather buy it because the game is good.
From what I have seen so far the game looks like it will be quite entertaining. It looks easy to learn and hard to master, which makes the game far more interesting as it will be about how my opponent and I interact with each other on the table that will make the game fun and challenging.

Start a thread named Ewoks and keep it going. X-wing got their gunboat.
will take a couple years at least, if they're not already in the works
I will ONLY accept ewoks in this game if they have an 8 figures minimum and 10 figures maximum squad.
(Stupidly weak, but theres tons of them.)

Only if we can have a light sabre wielding Ewok! Here is photo evidence that they exist.....................

7 chances. 2 of those chances were wasted.
In all serious though, what makes you think we have any idea?
