I'm assuming FFG is holding off as long as possible to try to keep hype building for Legion (I mean, both X-Wing and Armada are in the same boat - everything announced or teased for either game has already been released). Possibly not even anything this week...although, yeah, I really hope we see something!

may 4th, most likely. Solo drops may 25th so the release might not coincide this time.

I hope you’re wrong. I’m not the least bit interested in Legion. 1) They’re unpainted and I don’t have time to paint entire armies and 2) I’m nowhere near as interested in land skirmishes as I am space battles. I understand their desire to pump up the release of Legion but my loyalties lie with XWM and I really want some kind of announcement soon.

Agreed, why does ffg have to have a piece of every pie? Xwm, their version of attack wing, Imperial Assault, their version of heroclix, Armada, ok can’t think of copy for that one, Destiny, their version of mtg and dicemasters mixed, Legion, is straight Star Wars warhammer. Enough already seriously, the cow might be mighty but the milk is turning sour...

Eh, definitely more of a 'space' guy, myself, so when Legion was initially teased it didn't really fill me with enthusiasm beyond imaging the idea of getting to do the land battles that the ships kicked off - with entire platoons of Storm Troopers and multiple AT-ATs attacking dug in Rebel positions (because surely the game was going to be to 'Armada' what 'Imperial Assault' was to 'X-Wing' as far as scale...RIGHT?!) Obviously, as we now know, it's quite the opposite. And leaves me scratching my head - I mean, there cannot possibly be room in the market for both Legion and Imperial Assault, right? Why no AT-ATs and higher scale??? Bah!

But, yeah, FFG does seem to want to pump the launch of that a lot, and delaying announcements on their other miniature lines may well be a part of that? And consider that while Legion isn't landing until March 22, even at that point the Solo movie still has months to go (releasing on May 25).

It's possible we aren't going to get anything announced for X-Wing, Armada, or Imperial Assault until after Legion is on store shelves. I get the feeling that FFG is betting heavily on it, yet also worried it may well blow up in their face, and so want to try to stack the deck in its favor as much as they can; by not potentially poaching sales with announcements for parallel/competing product lines...

Hmm. I think I have to agree with the "after Legion launches" sentiment. With the launch of a new product, I can very well understand why they are letting their proven and stable (at least X-Wing) product lines coast.

While I would rather an announcement sooner rather than later, but this honestly isn't a bad time for little to no news. I still haven't played with all the ships from the two combined waves, the meta is currently looking pretty nice, and we have Regionals still going on.

I feel like May 4th would be more likely to be the wave's release, not it's announcement.
