Crits and cover

By cookluke5150, in Star Wars: Legion

Ok I roll 4 dice vs a unit in hard cover. I get 2 hits and 2 crits. Do the brits negate the cover for a total of 4 hits?

Negative. Crits and cover are unrelated. Crits negate Armor. A crit against a unit without an Armor rating is nothing more than a regular hit.

Crits can't be cancelled by dodge tokens and cover.

Yeah ^ this

The hard cover would negate the two hits. Only the crits can't be negated by the cover.

Crits are also useful in that they are needed to damage units with the Armor keyword and because they ignore dodge tokens.

Is there a purpose in putting an armoured unit in cover?

Impact. Cover would cancel the hits before they turn into crits. See the airspeeder(cover and armor).

Incorrect. Dodge tokens just let you reroll defense dice

Incorrect Dodge tokens are auto cancel 1 hit

So much conflicting information.... go back and watch the GenCon demos. :) that’s what I do from time to time.

This is the correct answer. A few people are equating Dodge tokens to Aim tokens....they are mechanically totally different.

If only there was a released written document we could all reference that answered all of our questions about the way the game is played... ;)

Ah well, maybe someday. :P

LOL THIS thread needs to die. People assume the rules and take it for fact.

Yeah, waiting for the rules. If that's release day then so be it, no way I'm getting drawn into rules interactions without a RRG handy. Even basic stuff there's all sorts of assumptions going about.

Yeah, this particular rule is one of the few that has been out there.
