In RT, there is an interesting rule on page 15.

if a character gain during character creation the same skill from differents sources, he can have a +10 mastery.

if a character gain during character creation the same talent from differents sources, he can choose instead the Talented (choose skill) Talent Can this apply to DH characters ?

Unless I missed a specific ruling somewhere, that would be up to your GM.

(I, personally, would allow it, since I thought this little rule made a great deal of sense.)

The GM of the DH game I play in does something along these lines where skills are involved. We've not had the issue of talents come up though.
