Solo: A Star Wars Story Trailer

By Forresto, in Star Wars: Armada

Why is it important that the actor LOOK EXACTLY LIKE H. FORD!?

This I do not understand.

More important he can play well and the film is well made.

If you want to watch a good Han Solo show then watch Firefly and pretend captain Renolds is Han.

It's not anything about looks, it's about why are we constantly back peddling to this sort of thing. Leaving this sort of thing alone is best. Don't know about you but I really don't need a marvel stlye origin story for a character that for all purposes is already well flushed out. It's like showing Luke as moisture farmer doing moisture farmer things. Or Leia voting in the imperial senate, not really necessary to flush out the universe, which is already very flushed out at this time.

I’ll watch it as it seems interesting enough. But for my money, I wanted a Lando movie. Holy ****, could that be a fun movie. Not serious like R1 or TFA. Not shooting for humorous like TLJ. But a straight up fun movie like Deadpool. Something that takes shots at itself and Star Wars and shoots for having a good time. I can go crawl back up my serious ***hole with the next movie.

Origins and prequels are a mistake when they suck the mystique out of characters who should retain it.

Some folks can't understand what's so awesome about Boba Fett. Why is he so popular? He does little and says even less. The answer is mystique. A mysterious fellow in really cool looking armour and a cool ship, with lots of gadgets and tricks, whose face is never seen, who gets the better of Han. He has to be awesome! One's imagination fills in his past and motivations. Seeing him as a little kid just ruins all of that. Boba Fett was never a kid!

Same for Han. I don't want to know the details of his scoundrel past. My imagination can run wild unless I accept the events of this new movie, which I likely won't.

Ah, yes. That I can agree with. It would be better with a SW story with original characters.

But the film will be made, and I hope it will be good.

The fact that Kathleen Kennedy didn't like the way this movie was turning out might be a hint that it's actually decent.

Assuming she didn't/doesn't get it changed to her vision of SW, it would be.

They definitely showed him farming some moisture from that one creature in TLJ

Anybody notice the falcon is a little different? Still missing some of the special mods.

The exterior of the Falcon has been a visually different model/set in each movie. Anything else would just be a break from tradition. ;)

Ya but I meant it still has its middle section of the forked front as a solid.

That is how those ships push cargo

Isn't this by the same director who made The Last Jedi the Swiss cheese of plot gaps, the frayed rope of dangling plot threads?

Count me skeptical.

/enjoyed TLJ, but as a collage of individually beautiful images rather than a cohesive story

No, TLJ was Rian Johnson, this is by Ron Howard, although not all, he took over the project after almost all filming was done by Lord&Miller, and he did some reshoots and had to re-cast lando cos the original actor wasn’t avaible for the reshoots (thank god cos Donald Glover fits like a glover as Lando)

I think Solo will be a lot more enjoyable than TLJ. TLJ was good for all its faults but was a bit hard going. This looks a rolliking good time more like ANH and a bit of R1. Just what we need to remind us that back in '77 SW was really just cowboys in space with a mix of mythology thrown in. I expect my swash to be well and truly buckled. I am a massive Ford fan, but as long as Aldreicht puts in a good enough turn as Han, I'm happy.

Good to know, thanks. That makes me a bit more at ease with the idea. Ron Howard is talented.

Also, his daughter...

I'm at an age where my sex-drive mostly finds the whole idea exhausting, but she reminds me it's still there.

Lololol now all u can think of is stormtroopers marching around saying 'by your command' in that awesome synthetic modulated voice.

Kinda hard to get excited by this when we know his fate is to be WTFPWND by his snot-nosed brat.

Hahaha, that brat?

Sooooooo true. That scene with Snoke berating him for the mask pissed me off. I was like, "Aw dammit, now we'll have to listen to his actual voice and look at his not-an-awesome-mask face."

I guarantee you that if we spent a trilogy looking at and listening to boiled-egg Vader, he'd not be nearly as popular as he is.
