TIE Bomb(lette)er!
TIE Conjoined

Aren't Tie cockpits red on the inside?

Not exactly "lit red", no - but, then, that's usually a silly thing to do when you need to look outside of a cockpit (I mean, sure, red light is much less impairing to night vision than cooler colors, but still...)
That said...yeah, ever since 'A New Hope'...
...quite a lot of red light in there from the panels.

they are mostly grey, but have a lot of panels that are black with red lights.
etc.
I'm definitely going to have to agree with the idea that it's a training TIE. With an extra bubble for the instructor. Would make sense for some kind of environmental hazard training given the scene.

Hmmm I didn’t think the Scimitar Bomber is a TIE. IIRC it has one ion engine... so maybe it’s a SIE.

The TIEx1 has four engines.

possibly, but why just the one then, with half a dozen regular TIE's?
i wish that the thing's size was easier to gauge.. we can't tell whether the things panels are the same size as the standard TIE's or not, which makes gauging the size of those spheres hard. if it was two full cockpits i'd imagine the 2nd sphere would be the same size as the first. and i can't imagine why you'd have two differently sized cockpits.
thus why i think it is a sensor/EW ship.. the ISD is clearly going to have trouble moving through the storm, and sensory issues from it too. so sending out an EW craft to act as a remote sensor platform, and then giving said craft some escorts to protect it, would seem a reasonable tactic. i suspect the storm will show up later in the film, as a place smugglers are hiding, with the fighters meant to help find said smugglers.

That's a good point. I was thinking it could be some sort of special training mission, but then why not use a standard TIE? we've seen cadets train in regular TIEs in Rebels, so something like a trainer TIE would only really make sense for really green pilots, but then why drop that kind of pilot under those kind of "stormy" conditions with a fighter escort?

On the scale of stupid TIE designs, it's like a 5/10.
Edited by DarthEnderXSkystrike academy in rebels seems to have been more geared for those who already know how to fly (at least, the parts we saw of their program), so i suspect that all those cadets were capable of soloing by the time they arrived. the empire would have programs for those who need to learn to fly in the first place, and i suspect they do have a trainer model with multiple seats for that part. but yeah, if it was a training flight i'd expect either the entire flight to be two seat trainers, or all of them to be regular TIE's.
i suppose it is possible it is a training mission, and the special TIE is carrying an instructor that will grade the cadet's in the regular TIE's.. but honestly, i'd still suspect the special TIE is a sensor platform variant in such a case, since that would make it easier for the instructor to keep an eye on things.
given the sense of menace in the shot though, i still think it is supposed to be at a point in the film where the ISD is hunting han (or maybe lando)

Let's talk about these babies. They shall be known as TIE/CN for Conjoined fighters.
Asymetrical dial with white left s-loop
1 crew slot
1 imperial astromech slot
Missile slot
Bomb slot
Reload action
Barrelroll action
Focus action
Target lock action
2 agility
6 hull/shield
so basically a prenerfed JM5K ;-D (just without turret and small base instead of large base)
And then this crew: An imperial munitions/bomb specialist named Sabine ;-D
I'd say the extra pod holds communications and/or tracking equipment to help them successfully navigate an asteroid field. It makes sense given its location and size (a little too cramped for a second person). Of course, perhaps it's some kind of superglue laser or plague-pod because Mouse...

Don't forge it's ATT 3 value. Due to the fact that two of it's sixteen secondary thrusters are positioned slightly off the inertial center of the ship to aid docking procedures, it's been given a title:
TIE Mytosis
(Title, 0 points)
When performing a barrel roll, you may use the 3-bank or 5-straight template. You may only barrel roll to the left.
It also comes with a new PS 9 Imperial pilot:
Dengar
(PS9) (30 points)
You may perform the same action twice in a turn. After you perform an action, you may perform that action a second time as a free action.
The developers will release it alongside a groundbreaking agility 3 Falcon Iteration (but only on Han's pilot card) with a primary weapon value of 3 and the scum Kjrenfjjs fighter, which has a ATT 4 PWT.
Obviously, a TIE Basket case

The TIE Star Cruiser looks even worse than this:
Ironically (and despite the utter ugliness), that's exactly what the Empire needs in XWM: a mobile and cheap large base, with 2 crew and turret (what Rebels and Scum take for granted).
The Star cruiser TIE apparently came from the Galactic battlegrounds game.. so thankfully legends, but that does explain a lot. that game had a lot of ugly ships that never appeared anywhere else.
it actually looked like this there:
Just an idea what could this be.
Coordinate for Lambda shuttle please.. oh and this tie scout thing too

Tetra Ion Engine
I actually hope it’s some kind of scout ship. That would be an interesting model for XWM. Either way, I’m buying at least one if FFG releases it.
Looks pretty stupid to me. Especially if it IS a tie trainer, because clearly there are Tie Flight Sims as seen in the EU For years now, OH WAIT, Disney Recon yet another then that makes more sense and is cooler then....THIS.

Siener Fleet Systems: "Thank you for coming to our facilities for a visit. As you can see our production is right in line with projections."
Empire: "Good. Good. Now, where is the new TIE variant?"
Siener Fleet Systems: *Crap!* "Uh, one second." *scribbles it on a napkin* "Here, its just in concept phase."
Empire: "Good, now push it into mass production, I want to order a million this second!"
Cygnus Spaceworks: "We have a new fighter you might be interested in..."
Empire: "No, Cygnus, you ONLY make our Shuttles!"
Cygnus: "But..."
Empire: "ONLY Shuttles!"
Cygnus: *cries while looking at the Alpha-class Starwing* "One day...one day."
Rinse and repeat for X number of TIE variants.

New canon has Tie flight sims too, as seen in Rebels.
When I look at the new TIE it reminds me of the Experimental MK1, just if someone remembered to add a second pannel and put them in the normal locations.
