Pew-pew!

I want one of these TIE Fighters, they look sweet.

This kind of perfectly sums up my attitude towards this thing. It's obviously Star Wars, obviously a TIE variant, and seems really fun and unique! And I like the idea that it's an Imperial B-Wing. But if it comes to this game, I'd like it to be less underpowered than the B-Wing...

And greebles! GREEBLES!

Kind of the perfect explaination for the existence of any spaceship. As a frequent LEGO space builder, there's at least 50 types of LEGO piece that my first thought when seeing them is "GREEBLE! Gimme."

But B-wings are only asymmetrical when the feel like it. (Or the prototype). This tie/D pod has to do it 24/7.

Turning on your axis does nothing in space

My guess is that it's a reconnaissance craft looking for our heroes inside of the nebula or whatever kind of space clouds the Star Destroyer was passing through

Well, considering these cannons are on the inside of the tie's wing and that they appear to be vertically articulated, turning on its axis would be the primary means of directing the axis on the firing arc.

Every time the ship attacks, it has to do a 1-bank-right backwards.

Seriously?

The TIE fighter is 2 serving platters and a cantaloupe painted gray. . .

I'm talking star wars in general, not just the Empire.

I dunno, depending on the axis and orientation of the engines and weapons I’d say spinning on an axis would be THE way of reorienting a spacecraft to fire on targets with the heaviest possible weapons. The B-wing unfortunately is marketed as an awesome gunship because the fusilage rotates around the cockpit. Yeah, that kind of **** does nothing, except help put the craft into landing configuration so the pilot doesn’t just flop out of the cockpit when he opens the canopy.

Yeah, I was talking about the B-wing. I just didn't specify.. because weed.

i didn't catch a super good glimpse of it as it fly by the camera.. but what is the possibility that the cannons on this are able to swivel and point themselves up, down, and to the rear? a sort of predecessor to the TIE/SF?

so it’s this, but done right.

maybe TIE Heavy.

Exactly, I saw this and thought, "Someone made the TIE Experimental, but, like, sane ."

Much can be fixed by liberal application of Imperial Only

If every upgrade for the next two waves was "Imperial Only" we'd still have the least faction upgrades.

The matter of fact is that I like the design.

From all TIE Frankenmonstrosities created along the EU years, this one is not particularly offensive to the eye.

Generic Imperial Only upgrades: Fleet Officer and Systems Officer, and... that's it?

Ruthlessness

And technically UGR... but then again, I find UGR to be similar to Targeting Computer... It's yet another upgrade that fixes a deficiency and we have to pay points and slots for it, while others just get it included in their ships.

Looks pretty stupid to me. Especially if it IS a tie trainer, because clearly there are Tie Flight Sims as seen in the EU For years now, OH WAIT, Disney Recon yet another then that makes more sense and is cooler then....THIS.

There have been flight sim training for years in disney canon as well.

Lightweight Frame is the big offender here. They just stopped giving us agile ships after they released this card. They want us to buy back our pseudo-agility. It's lazy design if you ask me.

The Empire's all about lazy design; you're either flying in a ball with solar panels, a folding winged shuttle, a big triangle covered in guns or are on a spherical space station armed with a superlaser. At the first sign of adversity, repeat but BIGGER.

Lazy design is what the Empire does.

Interchangeable parts and efficient supply chains win wars. Sorry our ships don't look like garbage hauled out of a dump with engines hastily welded on to them.

Sienar fleet systems is like Taco Bell. Same 6 basic ingredients just rearranged in different ways.

I don't really mind the new TIE fighter varient. I'm just excited about this chase scence that will actually be a fast paced chase... *cough* Last Jedi *cough*

Gotta be careful on how they do cannons at this point. Dash doesn't need to be any more of a **** than he already is.

Whilst valid statements, do we really need another TLT?

I'd love to see a 'Repeating Cannon'. *insert Slave 1 Heavy Repeating Cannon noises* PEW PEW

Repeating Cannon - 3 or 4pts - 2 attack, Range 1-3. Perform this attack twice, your attack dice cannot be rerolled.

Great on a 16-18pt TIE, okay on a B-wing, trash on a 48pt Dash..

P.S. I love the look of this new TIE!!
