Hi,
Can someone explain to me exactly how Kylo and ISYTDS works please, because I think its extremely powerful and cheap. And is there any way to defend from it (apart determination).
Thanks

Let's start with the premise that however it has happened, I'll Show You The Dark Side has now been put onto a ship, that you've searched the opponent's damage deck for the "pilot" crit you want. What it does is essentially this: it replaces the normal effect (taking away a shield if it still has shields, or dealing a face-up damage if not) of landing a critical hit from an attack on an enemy with a new effect: dealing the searched-and-attached damage card specifically, even under shields. It doesn't effect other sources of face-up damage (Proton Bombs) or critical damage outside the framework of an attack (Darth Vader happens after attacking).
As to counter-play, Determination (which wouldn't be unreasonable on some ships, if VI wasn't forcing the PS race), Leebo, Chewbacca (crew or pilot) are the three which come to mind. I don't think "roll enough evades" counts as meaningful counter-play. Against ship-Kylo, you have choices in who attacks: only the first ship to damage Kylo in a turn is subject to the card, and it can be bounced around, depending on who is likely to be attacked themselves. Against crew-Kylo, I wonder if the card design is fundamentally broken, since it's so easy to use and there isn't really any possible counter-play.
With something like Crew Boba Fett, it's not easy to get that trigger. You've got to strip shields, then land a crit, and only from the ship with Boba. With Kylo, it's so much easier. If there's any saving grace, it's that Imperial crew carriers are weaker than other factions. Lambda and Upsilon have large weaknesses. TIE Bomber/TIE Shuttles are squishy. Firesprays are trash. Phantoms don't have actions to spare. RACLo seems reasonable, but I haven't really heard or seen much of it lately, so perhaps the general weakness of the archetype is the only thing holding back a mechanic which I think is fundamentally problematic.
I have a doubt remaining, if u kill the carrier of Kylo is the condition card discarded along with the damage card?
Nope. The condition is not destroyed if Kylo is destroyed; it remains on the targeted ship until it is triggered.
What's more, I believe that if the ship to which ISYTDS has been assigned is destroyed before it is triggered, the same damage card will remain on the condition and will remain until the condition is attached to a new ship. I'm not completely sure, but I think that's how it would work.
At very least, if the condition is assigned to a new ship before it has been triggered, the same damage card moves along with the condition: the damage card remains there until triggered.

Currently there does not appear to be anything tying the Kylo crew card and the assigned condition together after the condition card is assigned. This would suggest that even in Kylo's untimely demise (both crew and Pilot) that the condition card remains on the targeted ship till the condition card trigger is met. Further to this point as per the FAQ should a ship with an assigned ISYTDS condition be removed from the battlefeild without having met the condition cards trigger, the condition remains assigned to the destroyed ship. From the FAQ:
Conditions on Destroyed Ships
Condition cards assigned to ships are not removed when that ship is destroyed (unless specified on the card).
Why is this relevant you ask? Because you don’t discard the condition on ship destruction if its still attached to said ship, the condition card still has the selected pilot trait damage card attached to it. Should Kylo still be alive at this point, you can reassign the ISYTDS condition card to another ship with the same pilot trait damage card, can't let that blinded pilot damage card go to waste now haha.
Edit:
Super ninja'ed, I really shouldn’t write a reply then go for a meeting before actually posting it haha
Edited by Mace WinduAnother, somewhat risky way of defending against I'll Show You the Dark Side is through the use of Draw Their Fire . Often seen on tanky ships like Auzituck Gunboats, with this card, you're taking away a critical result from the ship carrying the condition. It never suffers that critical damage, so it never gets dealt the assigned damage card; instead, the other ship suffers the normal effects of critical damage (one shield, or one face-up card from the deck).
It can be a useful addition to Chewbacca, since he doesn't care about receiving face-up cards, most of the time.
So if I'm with Kylo pilot do I have to change the condition every turn or optional?

As the pilot ability does not use the word "may," the condition card is assigned to (or switches to) whichever ship is the first one to hit Kylo Ren with an attack each turn. Note that any damage card placed onto the condition stays attached... so while you might have wanted (for example) Poe Dameron to get the "Blinded Pilot" crit, it could end up landing onto Dash Rendar instead (depending on whether or not you evade the attacks).
Thanks
