So I tried Kimogila first time...

By Zazaa, in X-Wing

And I liked it! It is cool looking ship, nothing too special, but introduced nice new mechanics in to the game. It had good cards and I like the new combos there. This ship is down there with Kihrax and Syck, just about in right place.

Had pretty classic build and obivously didint try to force my BEarc too much. But reality is that Harpoon missiles makes this one savage who can drop nice damage in.

Any combos out there to get bit extra action economy out of this one? Maybe Dalan to get those BEarcs? Might be bit too hard to land it tho, Stay on Target ept?

Anyway its cool ship! ;)

I've been running them in Fly Casual to test them. I have to say at least in FC they are a lot of fun. Currently I run 2 of them with rotating wingmates:

Dalan Oberos (Kimogila) — M12-L Kimogila Fighter	25
Expertise	4
Concussion Missiles	4
Unhinged Astromech	1
Contraband Cybernetics	1
Guidance Chips	0
Enforcer	1
Ship Total: 36

Cartel Executioner — M12-L Kimogila Fighter	24
Deadeye	1
Concussion Missiles	4
Unhinged Astromech	1
Contraband Cybernetics	1
Guidance Chips	0
Ship Total: 31

Now, granted, if and when I get them I would run them with Harpoons, but for 67 points they seem pretty solid.

I like the Kimogila, but it seems a little schizophrenic, on one hand it wants to be a ranged missile boat with missiles and torps, on the other an up close brawler ( easier to get BEarc ) but with out the dial to support it.

One build i'd like to try is:

Torani Kulda — M12-L Kimogila Fighter 27
Push the Limit 3
Unhinged Astromech 1
Engine Upgrade 4
Enforcer 1

Ship Total: 36

But it's a little pricey on a 1 green 2 shield ship.

One thing the Kimogila is good at is hunting evasive large based ships.

I been running 2 with a Shadowcaster title , the funny thing is how soul crushing it can be when you tractor something into the bullseye arc. Especially if your opponent took the pains to avoid it.

Im also testing this ship in casual games. I need to check in to this more, that Torand with VI is pretty solid too, it is almost always the first to fire so it gets bit more milage out thath way.

I was planning to try out Dalan with two Karthak Pirates and add one TLT and something, that would have pretty insane 28HP all together even could push it up to 30HP with Hull Upgrades, I know people dont use them in Tournaments that much, but I have found them to be actually pretty good in casual games and are crusial part of my Vaksais because they are million times better with 6HP rather than 5HP.

Contraband Cybernetcs is the best upgrade in this expansion. Being able to hard 1, 2 or K turn and take a lock, focus or Barrel Roll is killer. Dalan Oberos is my favorite pilot of the bunch loaded up with cluster missiles has been a lot of fun.

so many typos that needed fixing!

Yeah Contraband Cybernetics was another of the deciding factors in me getting two instead of just one, especially if your running some cheap Vaksai wingmen.

I agree! Had three games and 2/3 opportunities when I was using Contraband Cybernetics and got landed my missiles behind and did major damage as "free" opportunity.

So if you use CC and execute red maneuver I will be taking two stress tokens right? One from CC and another from red maneuver or did I played it incorrectly?

Yup. Activate ship flip CC, get a stress, do red maneuver, get another stress, and action. Note you can still do this even while your stressed so you could end up with 3+ stress :D

Yes!! It has to be used in right moment when you know you still can get that stress out or your last thing to do before you are out.

Wingmen? I'll fly 3+ Kihraxzes any day of the week, especially Viktor Hel.

Contraband Cybernetics is one of the gems of the wave I think, even more than Advanced Optics for Poe. It breathes life into an enormous amount of ships.

I'm on the fence about the Kimogila, mainly because it's a better B-wing, but also because it's limited in the exact same way as the B-wing - being utterly terrible in the opening engagement (sans harpoons, where Gunboats are better) and the endgame.

M12-L Kimogila Fighter: •Dalan Oberos (33)
Guidance Chips (0)
•Enforcer (1)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Harpoon Missiles (4)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
Contraband Cybernetics (1)

Scurrg H-6 Bomber: Karthakk Pirate (34)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
•Greedo (1)
•Bomblet Generator (3)

Scurrg H-6 Bomber: Karthakk Pirate (33)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
•Dengar (3)

Total: 100/100

Something I was planing to try out this week. Might do some changes there to optimize bit.

I've got a list I've been using for Objective games that has done really well.

Torani Kulda (27)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Flechette Torpedoes (2)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
Guidance Chips (0)
Enforcer (1)

Black Sun Ace (23)
Fearlessness (1)
Black Market Slicer Tools (1)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
Vectored Thrusters (2)
Vaksai (0)

Black Sun Ace (23)
Fearlessness (1)
Black Market Slicer Tools (1)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
Vaksai (0)

Sunny Bounder (14)
Tractor Beam (1)
Pulsed Ray Shield (2)
"Heavy Scyk" Interceptor

Kirhaxz Fighters rush in to get the R1 or even cause bumping. Sunny B goes for throwing people on rocks or just firing. I've had a great time with her putting people on rocks or in front of them.

The Kimogila needs to slow roll. I like the double stress if I can get someone in bullseye and fire Flechette Torps. I've been pretty happy with using it. It's cheap and I can use GC. I like the dial and am happy with Barrel Rolls on the ship. It feels more maneuverable than I thought it would. Surprises some opponents, too.

I'll have to try Contraband Cybernetics as there are a few times I could have really used it. Not sure what to get rid of, though. Pulse Ray Shield has done really well keeping some ships alive. Wish I had enough for Vectored Thrusters in both Kihraxz. That would be fantastic.

That was around Indianapolis? I heard there was a Xizor + Guri list that did well. I was happy to hear about it, but didn't get to hear much.

Mine was in London, Thweek destroying my Poe by red-turning while stressed. Thought I was completely safe!
