Fire control teams and multiple black crits

By noobzor, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Got the new wave this week and threw down the double ordinance slot MC75 with APTs and ACMs (AND fire control teams). Dropped it out of hyperspace right in front of the enemy fleet. Good times.

Ran into a question though - if you have multiple crit effects that only happen on a single die color (in this case APTs and ACMs), how many crits of that color do you need? I assume only one but wanted some other opinions too.

I though you needed a crit for each effect so for both atp and acm would need two black crits.

Just one black in THIS instance, since both crits trigger on a black crit. You could also opt for the default critical as your second on a single black crit (90% less likely to be a better choice, but your mileage may vary depending on the exact condition of the target). :D

No.

RRG pg 4 CRITICAL EFFECTS said:

A critical effect, denoted by the "<critical>:" header, can resolve if there is at least one <critical> icon in the attack pool.

Coupled with...

No mention of requiring extras.

The trigger for those critical effects is that you must have a black crit icon. As it isn't spend or anything for resolving the effects, both cards will be checking: is there a black crit icon on the roll? If yes, the effect can take place, regardless of how many effects that icon triggers. The only thing that Fire Control Team does is let you resolve an additional critical effect, but the requirement of the effect is still the same, in this case a black crit icon.
