The Mighty Jabba

By Tvboy, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Playing through a Core campaign with 2 new players and just got Jabba as a villain and I'm super excited.

Has anybody else used him in campaign or maybe fought against him? Which abilities do you like using? When I was using him in his side mission I really enjoyed the tension of choosing between his 3 main abilities. For example I planned my open groups around using his Plot ability on the first 2 turns, so do I heal and focus that merc figure they just attacked and hope it survives, or do I cut my losses and guarantee it gets to attack? Then later on I wondered if I really needed that 2 threat or if I'd rather get a free extra focused attack.

Love to hear people's thoughts and experiences on using Jabba in campaign.

Executive Order is good when you have a big merc unit on the board, like a Rancor or a bounty hunter. Even better if you use Financial Incentive on them beforehand.

Bully is pretty good if you don't have a big merc unit, but it's also not bad against a nearby ally. Three unblockable damage isn't bad for an action that isn't even an attack.

If you don't have many other actions to do (or are saving threat for something else, Plot is pretty good.

One great thing about Jabba is that he's pretty good about adjusting to giving buffs to a lot of your units. In addition, Hutt Syndicate doesn't hurt your long term campaign goals by any means. So, either he's going to have a big target on his back and your Rebels will waste activations attacking him, or you'll slowly build up buffs with your units and also collect excess Influence.

Nice, I mostly ignored Bully for the first mission, but we've got Imperial Hospitality coming up as our next mission and (hopefully my Rebel players aren't reading this), I plan on deploying Jabba right in the corner next to the cell door and Bullying the prisoner when he comes out for 3 damage that the Rebels can't prevent just by standing next to him, teeheehee.

This bounty hunter Imperial is my kind of scum. Fearless and inventive.
