Sato MC75 2.1

By Undeadguy, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

I played a game last night with a variant of this list and got a feel for what the MC75 and Sato can do. It deals large amount of damage consistently, and I'm trying to capitalize on that.

  1. I swapped SAd for IO, since SAd does nothing if your opponent has 3 flotillas.
  2. Swapped WAB for ACM, since I'd rather have the MC75 killing ships and Admo can clean up flotillas if need be.
  3. Draven is a new addition, and I feel like this is the right configuration for the flotillas. Draven can get lots of AA in and Toryn improves it. Followed by A-Wings and Toryn Counter.
  4. Not sure on objectives. I originally had AG, HSA, and SC, but AG is risky against Ackbar and SC is the natural choice. Salvage Run at least protects me against long range lists, but it's hard using a large ship with all those obstacles. I don't want to use MW, but it's just too **** good. HSA is also a clear winner for this fleet.

I'm open to suggestions. EWS is a clear cut, but it's very good against squads. Not useful when I'm setting up double arcs though. Bulkheads could get cut too, but it works well with the forward approach of the MC75. IO could be swapped for a cheaper officer.

I don't own 3 GR-75s, so I don't think that's an option for me.

After trying a sato mc75 wedensday I am thinking about trying caitken and shollan over ordinance experts on it. For 2 points it gives you a bit more flexibility in refilling. It's not just because my friend took like 8 gozonties and I couldn't get am accuracy all game.

I like it but would drop EWS for a bid or to make the second flotilla a combat version. Also take APTs or ACMs on both ships rather than one of each. You could drop an A-Wing to a Z95 if you need a few more points.

I definitely think that IO is a great choice for the MC75, but what are your thoughts about Bail? You won't be getting first/last by any means, but he could open up some great situations once you have his timing down. He would also be a good defense against being the target of a first/last during a key part of the game. Basically substitute Bail for the SAd you dropped to "play the activation game" from the other end.

I do agree with Mad Cat about committing to APTs or ACMs. Either pile on the direct damage to hull or obliterate the shields.

The problem with caitken and shollan is that it is an exhaust compared to Ord Experts.

I'll play it tomorrow and come back with my thoughts. I like the APT and ACM because it let's me do different things. ACM is good against large ships and APT is good against small ships. APT also lets Admo kill flotillas with 1 hit and 1 hit/crit which makes it one of the most reliable ways to kill them.

I really like IO, but I think Bail will be a better option.

I hadn't even noticed that yet. So it's 2 more points, an exhaust, but can be any dice color... doesn't quite seem worth it imho

Can you add the ex racks to sato? I thought it specified "when you are at short range..."

you cant, but when you get to close range...

The list was quite resilient. Splitting up the A-Wings certainly helped, and Aspritation putting my front to 6 and with Admo on the side is very intimidating. Bail was amazing, but sadly my dice didn't cooperate. I had picked round 3, so my commands were Nav, Nav, CF to ensure I was in position. Round 3 happened and I had Demo in my front arc, who also happened to be the MW ship. I decided to keep 1 blue to get an Acc since Toryn was near. 4 blacks and 1 blue. All hits. ER for 1 hit and a blank. Toryn into a crit. CF a blue hit. MW a black hit. Rerolled the blank and 3 hits into a blank and 3 hits. So 8 damage off 2 blues and 7 black dice.... Demo just took it on the front and walked on by. Luckily I was ramming Demo and had put 2 face down from that and Admo was able to drop an APT. Tycho finally killed it.

Draven was also really cool since I was up against 6 squads and Dengar. Dengar never joined the fight, which meant I could engage squads on my terms while Draven riddle them with flak. I was disappointed I only killed 4 squads at the end since my A-wings went down quick. I'm thinking I need a stronger fighter force so I'll be jumping over to Yavaris instead of Admo.

I actually think your squadron force is pretty decent as is. A-Wings are very Flexible.

I'm not superstitious, but I swear my Counter dice are cursed to crits. And A-Wings die easily to FC boosted squads. Really the only reason I want to swap them for something more versatile and combos with Yavaris.

I tried a a similar list with Yavaris. In my experie that list lacks the extra threat of Admo. Your opponent can focus on keeping his distance from the MC75 and the fighter wing won't be enough to be as intimidating as an Admonition.
