I count 3 regionals tomorrow :
Massachusetts, Alberta, and Minnesota. If you are going to one of those, and can get the lists for me, I'd appreciate it. Please post here.
Also, did Canada get wave 7 on time?

One Store in Calgary received stock on Thursday - The Sentry Box.
I have heard that st least one place in Edmonton got stock, but unconfirmed.
The Calgary Store holding the regional - Myth Games - does not have stock st this time... Lists are due tonight too.
Unfortunately, As I coordinatebthevsentry box tournaments, I’m not in charge of this Regional - but I’ll try to get Corey to pass lists on to you...

2 VSD 2 arq,
Mon Karren and MC75
A couple of ISD/Quasar lists
Triple assault frigate with Ackbar
MC30 and AF with Ackbar
MC75 and MC30, one with Sato one with Raddus
Mon Karren and RLB AF
Admo and Yavaris and 3 flots
MC30, TR90, pair of hammerheads
Another MonKarren and Admo
Roughly 4 ISD and quasar lists, also 4 Raddus lists. Lots of Cymoons and MC75s

Final count was 24. Winner overal was Nathan from Worlds which looked to me, a relatively casual observer, as being 90% the same as his Worlds list. Dong, former GenCon winner, took second with an Avenger & Demo list with six squadrons. I think they were at 29 and 24 points respectively.
I took 10th with a Cymoon Vader + four Goz list with 6 aces. Won’t bother with the list as it’s statistically irrelevant.
MA Regional was a small one: only 11 players, however a lot of interesting and inventive lists.

This is about the last thing I expected to see in the top 4... I think this shows that the game is in a healthy state.

Or that the meta in that area of the country is an enigma. You cant use this as evidence of anything.

I'm impressed. I think it says skill and experience with a list probably has quite a bit to say with how a list will do.

I would say that player skill definitely did matter here (the same player did put Hammerhead swarm into Top-8 cut at Nova last year).
Personally I was more surprised by Tarkin's fleet that got 4th (as it was on top in the standings and went down to 4th place only after losing 2-9 last round)
Tarkin with the new ISD title, so he hands out Tarkin Bucks, then three of them get turned into something else. Nice combo.

Kudos to 3rd place. That takes balls.
And Tarkin...how cool is that.
And a Leia swarm.

Yes, thanks that's my list. Generally I hand out Nav, flip the ISD token to C.F. for Intensify Firepower!, and the Gozanti either gets Squadron or something like Engineering to pass. The Arquitens use the Nav for Engine Techs, usually keeping their speed at 1 for Quad Battery Turrets. This frees up the Arquitens to Concentrate Fire. Almost every match the first time you throw 3 red and 2 Blue at long range you get a big pale look and explanation ensues.
Obviously the list did well but it did fall hard in the last match to the first place finisher, Arquitens and Luke triple taps bring down Arquitens fast.

Yes, and I was the evil SoB triple-tapping you with Luke.

My takeaway from this is 11 players and 11 admirals chosen. That’s staggering to me in a great way

The player is really good at finding uses for every set.

Halifax got everything in a few days early and released to the public as per the schedule. No regionals out here though, maybe next year if we continue putting things together.
Why take Tarkin and Sovereign together? So I can use Tarkin to give me Navs and then Sovereign the ISD to CF? But there is also a Comms Net... What's the synergy?
1 minute ago, Undeadguy said:Why take Tarkin and Sovereign together? So I can use Tarkin to give me Navs and then Sovereign the ISD to CF? But there is also a Comms Net... What's the synergy?
Presumably you have no need for that comms net when you have Tarkin? Or less need? And Sovereign can affect multiple ships.
4 minutes ago, Green Knight said:Presumably you have no need for that comms net when you have Tarkin? Or less need? And Sovereign can affect multiple ships.
Right, Tarkin and Sovereign are essentially the same thing, besides the range and number restriction. Maybe use Sovereign first to clear the way for the Tarkin command? Idk, it seems silly and expensive.
Well, basically, it changes Tarkin from "All ships must have the same token" to "3 ships can have different tokens than what Tarkin gave them, but still a gain of a token..."
5 hours ago, Green Knight said:Presumably you have no need for that comms net when you have Tarkin? Or less need? And Sovereign can affect multiple ships.
This is correct, I almost dropped the Comms Net. The main reason I kept it was to pass Squad tokens early so if the Gozanti gets out of activation range I can still activate a squad with the other ships. It occasionally would pass a Nav or Engineering during a game too but not often. I'd call it a luxury item that could easily be dropped if you wanted to improve your bid.
