Happy Friday

By Cubanboy, in X-Wing

Happy Friday to everyone and I hope there is much outstanding X-wing this weekend.

This week I wanted to ask a question, how do you make your local community better?

See you on the flip side.

I bring custom mats for everyone to use on game night, I offer strategy advice to my opponents and other players, and I do the best Palp impressions ever.

I show 2 ship turret lists the dark side.

I provide other players an easy win as I slowly learn how to fly (or not fly) anything that's not a TIE/D.

Talking a lot with friends about xwing and play each Friday night if possible.

Doing Ligue game with unusual format.

Happy Friday, CB!

Two things I like to do. One is give people cards they need that I have too many of. I seem to have way too many copies of Stealth Device and PTL, and I give those out to a lot of new players. I should start bringing my spare Cruise Missiles, now that I bought all those GUNBOATS...

The second thing I do is make alt-art cards and give 'em out. They're always silly and barely legible, but people seem to enjoy 'em!

I try to offer a range of things to try and play, and I try to encourage the group to make the call, though sometimes I get carried away. I hand off extra alt-art cards from tournaments to newer players and generally try to answer any questions somebody may have when they approach the table.

I play off-the wall lists (Like Cikatro/Cloak/Unkar before it was cool) that have a good chance of winning, thus providing my opponents with an interesting, tough match up every time.

I explain how I beat a newer opponent when I do, and never, ever get annoyed by dice (in front of other players).

Happy Friday!!

To make it better, I always try to make gaming about the fun and not let people get too worked up. Yeah, it sucks to lose or to totally blank out, but hey, remember we're just pushing around little starships! Also, if we've got extra alt-arts or upgrades, we share them with the new players!! Give 'em a taste and they'll keep coming back.
