IA Price Increase

Or it could have to do with Hasbro licensing and this increase is necessary to keep IA at a profitability level that Asmodee is comfortable with. If sales continue after the $$$ increase we'll continue to see new releases. If sales have a significant drop we may see less and less.

Please stop.

Either come up with a verifiable source.....for instance if Hasbro is suing FFG or Asmodee you could find a court case.

Or...just stop.

Sorry if I hit a sensitive spot for you @Zrob314 . While I agree that there doesn't appear to be direct evidence to support this, there is plenty of information out there to show that this is something that could be going on behind the scenes.

While I was just hypothesizing about various options, comments like yours are not productive to the conversation nor the community at large.

Do you have so little confidence in this great game? I've presented and taught this game to several people now, all of which were veteran gamers and tabletop wargamers. And guess what - they all love it, and some of them have bought it and are now going into expansions. Next I will provide new games with some homebrew missions on a tabletop convention here in Germany in April.

The problem with this attitude is the "hasbro truthers" are using EVERYTHING as evidence.

Price goes up - Hasbro suing

Price goes down - Hasbro suing

No Reprints - Hasbro suing

Supermoon on 01.31.18 - Hasbro suing

all facts are twisted to fit your foregone conclusion rather than altering the conclusion based on the facts.

Price increases may be tricky to figure out. Sometimes when a product or business isn't doing well, prices have to be increased to improve or maintain margin. Sometimes the owner of a license wants more money when it's time to review or renew a contract. Sometimes the rest of the industry raises prices so a company follows suit (but we haven't really seen this across the board). Sometimes a new, tangentially related product is released and a price needs to increase to ensure relative margin/value/etc. Sometimes Hasbro sues you ;) . There are other reasons, too. Maybe the items are hot enough to justify the hike. It's awesome that the game is relatively healthy in your area. I agree people shouldn't lose confidence, at least not for several months.

I was at Fantasy Flight's Game Center this weekend in Roseville, MN. Oddly the prices of the Imperial Assault items at their own B&M store have not increased yet. Odd that they would push a MSRP price increase, which can already be seen on many OGS, but not make the change at their own store. Shouldn't they be the first to get the "memo" as they sit in the same building as the guy writing the memo?

Hometown/headquarters discount. ;)
