well I got beat up in a 2 player game,,,and the Elf and the Troll meet in the Crown of Command. If a character attacks and sees the roll,,is he allowed to pay the gold and add plus 3 at the end, after he sees the roll. I guess the same question can be asked of The Ghoul,, can he add his animated followers and use his ability to add their strength to an attack for extra strength,,,after he makes his roll, and sees what his opponent rolls?????

No, all effects that increase Str or Craft must be used before any die rolls are made.

"Any Spells that the player wishes to cast must be cast
before the attack roll is made. Any effects or abilities that
affect a character’s Strength or Craft must be implemented
before the attack roll is made." (p. 10)
