Invocation ideas and props SPOILERS!!! SPOILERS!!!

SPOILERS

My invocation kit finally came in!!! WOOOT.

I'm trying to setup an amazing one shot night. I figure curse of the Rougarou or carnival of madness. I need something thats not too long. Advice?

I have a few Cthulhu props to dress up the table. I've got a pretty good soundtrack ready to go. (BOHREN & DER CLUB OF GORE)

I'm hoping that I can do a few grim lighting effects with simple LED floodlights.

I'm hoping to build a prop for the game. Just to dress it up or something for gameplay itself.:ph34r: Ideas? Bone necklace to make the infected player in Curse of the Rougarou?

Both Rougarou and Carnevale can take a couple of hours, especially with four players. Especially Carnevale can also be very short, if it is not going well.

You can find additional royalty free atmospheric music at http://incompetech.com

In any case, when you plan your lighting, don't overdo it. Atmosphere is nice, but you still have to be able to see all the cards on the table and in your hand clearly, otherwise the game will take even longer. You could try some "poker table" setup with a bright lamp with an opaque shade overhead and put some lighting effects into the shadow surrounding the table. LED wax candles with a convincing "flickering flame" effect can also look spooky, especially when deployed in larger numbers.

There are lots of Halloween- or Cthulhu-themed food ideas to be found online. For props, it should be possible to find cheap copies of the four types of carnival masks. For the infected player in Rougarou, fake plastic fangs may be corny, but also more fun when people try to talk with them.

Awesome ideas. I usually do my mood lighting under the table and often with a table cloth. I find it colours the atmosphere without overdoing it. I love the prop ideas. Since its going to be in a store I'm going to avoid food. Id rather not lose sanity killing someone with allergies. :)

Wow the atmosphere music is great. IM going to add that to a few of my gaming soundtracks.
