My bad

The top 4 used imperial pilots, by me, recently

1. Omega Squadron Pilot

2. Blackout

3. Major Stridan

4. Turr Phennir

I'll find my way out, thank you for your time.

Technically only one of those pilots is Imperial...

You're right @ficklegreendice, it IS time to fully split the factions. First Order, Resistance, Rebel Alliance, Galactic Empire.

yes, I'm sure the Resistance "faction" with its three whole ships will be just dandy

also don't separate mama quickdraw from her gunboat children, you monster!

Can Imperials have a great consistent top 4 pilot in this meta pilot short of it using Harpoons?

Absolutely. Quickdraw, Inquistor, RAC, Vader, Sabacc, Omega Leader, Soontir, Kylo Silencer...all of these can put in work without Harpoons.

That's two more than the Resistance has going into the final film, so yeah, they'll be fine.

Quickdraw doesn't belong with gunboats. Quickdraw belongs with Kylo... preferably toting adapatbility so she can blow stuff up before he can.

Where is Soontir ?:(

2014.

There was a time when Academy Pilot would have made the list. I miss those days, but so much cool stuff has come out (like TIE Strikers) that I wouldn't trade to get them back.

I would, in a heartbeat.

The same goes for Interceptors, as they and TIE L/n's ARE The X-Wing Miniatures game(tm) for me.

Wonder how running a swarm would really be these days. Not saying formation flying would exactly be rewarding, but having 7 or 8 ships on the table can't be too bad. maybe 5 epsilons, 2 academies. or 6 epsilons, 5 with weapons guidance or something.

Terrible because Harpoons exist. Harpoons are a rock hard counter to traditional formation-flying TIE swarms. And Trajectory Simulator is too.

If you fly a nontraditional swarm that doesn't need to stick together, then better perhaps, but if you're flying that swarm, you're going to need to fly it a LOT better than your opponent to get enough 2 die shots on target to do anything meaningful.

Sorry, I meant to more clearly indicate that I would NOT plan to be flying in formation.
