Thanks for your work in giving some love to us West Coasters! I will be trying my hardest to make it, and hope that there is a solid turnout!

Me too. I know there is interest in a large tournament in the PNW. Hopefully folks are able to make the trip.
Hey @Maturin do you know where I could promote this to the BC folks?
FB page, Vancouver BC Armada is probably the best place. I’ll do my best to promote the tourney up until June...then I’ll be travelling. So sorry to miss the tourney!
Edited by MaturinLet's see...
Baby due August 4th...
So she'll be, what, 3 weeks old...
Sounds like the perfect time for Nana and Papa to come visit and daddy to go play Armada for two days!

Thats what happened to me with regionals last year
well, he was supposed to be 3 weeks before the tourney, ended up being 2 weeks late and firmly in the "no way in **** you are leaving to play Armada for a weekend" territory. Hopefully your new baby is more armada accomodating haha!
@shmitty I might be able to make this trip after all- is the tournament still a go? Spots available? Just looking to get all the info now that my wife is interested in hearing out a trip to the PNW.
@shmitty I plan on being there, if you'll take any old riffraff. ![]()

It is still a go. I will have more sign up information once the larger event has that all ready to go. What info can I give you now that would be helpful?

Do we know what the situation is on prize support? Will it be FFG sanctioned or just a casual tourney? What are the costs looking to be for the tournament? Will we need badges for the event as well and do you know if there is a cost there?
Scheduling might be more dodgey, but if you have an idea of how many games per day are planned and the time limits for those games that would be great too.
I was picking Chris' brain over the last week or so but if I am gonna convince the wife I just need to dot my I's and cross my T's.

Still working on FFG prize support. There will be support related to the event as well.
Right now the cost is looking like $50. That includes the event badge. There will be discounted hotel rooms available for the event.
The schedule would likely be 3 rounds Saturday and 2 on Sunday, although that is preliminary.

My wife's company is located in Portland and gets next-to-free rates at the hotel on the adjacent property, so we could stay there and hopefully wouldn't be too bad of a drive. And ok, well operation Wife Approval will begin soon.

If you need propaganda let me know. The venue is adjacent to a park with a farmer's market and within easy walking distance of a National Park.

Nice! I'll hit her with that informational double tap. Anything that's good for young kids, as we will probably bring our 4yo and 1.5yo with us?

The Portland Zoo is pretty cool, and the Japanese Gardens might be fun for the 4yo (taking it very un-seriously and looking for some if the things they have hidden as part of the kids' scavenger hunt). Portland has some wonderful public parks. Powell's Books is astounding, has a children's section the size of a Walmart, and has a lot of scheduled activities for children. The 4yo is too young, but our 8yo was wildly impressed by the rare books room on the top floor--seeing a 500-year old book is astounding, even at that age. I recommend going in if you can possibly find the time. I had a hard time tearing myself away.
Edited by elbmc1969Unfortunately I am having to cancel this event. It looks like I will be out of the country now during that time.
