Need suggestions

By NerfYoda, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

I recently caved in and bought a resin Utar Bulk Cruiser. I’m planning on using it to replace the Phoenix Home model. While I know that the FFG paint jobs aren’t the best, I like them. My goal: I want the bulk cruiser to ‘fit’... for a non-Armada player to not realize that the model is not part of the official game. With that in mind, I need a few suggestions.

Paint Colors

I’m going to use the Nebulon-B’s paint scheme.

for the base rebel white, I’m going with Vallejo Ivory mixed with a little brown. I plan on using a watered down nuln oil for a wash.

What do I need for the Dark gray front structure, red highlights, body panels, engines etc?

Any other suggestions?

If you go with an agrax wash for the ivory, you don’t even have to mix it with brown, it replicates very closely....

Thanks @Drasnighta Any color suggestions for the dark gray?

I would go for Mechanicus standard grey. It's a little darker than on the early printing of the Nebulon but quite close to the latest print run.

Mech Standard + Nuln was too dark as a comparison, but I never got around to putting dawn stone or administratum next to it, sorry
