Well, I assume as with any military organization, the exact numbers will vary slightly. After all, poor Needa had to use a TIE Shuttle to go see Lord Vader.

Yeah, nice acrylic template set that suits your desire, maybe a mat too. Painting is fun (arguably half my fun of the game; odd given how great they look out of the box, usually), though for Imperials I prefer clean uniformity as opposed to the odd paibtjobs and dirty, damaged weathering I put on my Scum and Rebel ships. For Imperials I like keeping their factory paintjobs, but adding dim red canopy lighting, engine glow, and covering up the effing "laser nozzle" glow on the front of the TIE/LN because why would cannons that fire green shots glow pink?
Iron out your home and portable storage solutions.
That said, play Imperial until you puke, then maybe borrow some Scum and Rebel and see how it feels. Not even to necessarily start playing them, but to better understand how they work.
