Imperial:
Naval Troopers
Scout Troopers
Rebel:
Echo Base Troopers
Rebel Commandoes
This would get us more stuff for the trooper slot and our first Spec-Ops units.
Thoughts?

The spec ops i agree. But more corp units? I would personally prefer more support units
I am of the opinion that Han Solo is going to be in the next wave, as I think they will want to get the main characters of the Original Trilogy out ASAP. It may take the form of a Han/Chewie Spec ops unit. Later they might release a different version/card for Han that allows him to be used as a Commander, given that the other commander cards have subtitles, it is possible they might release different versions of some of the characters ("Luke Skywalker: Jedi Knight" in the black outfit from RotJ) or have some of them be upgrade cards ("Luke Skywalker" pilot card).
I think Scout Troopers are a probably as the rumours seem fairly firm on that.
E-Web Engineer Support maybe?
R2D2/C3P0 Support for Rebels?
If they do Commander / Spec-Ops, then I think we might see Han as Commander Chewie OR Rebel Saboteurs as Spec-Ops.
Some IA original commander and Scout Trooper snipers.
I think they will release a new leader unit for each side in every wave, at least the first 5 or 6 waves.

At least until they get all of the Original Trilogy characters out of the way.
Introducing the specialist type. Maybe a few corps units like navy troopers, etc.
More commanders I am sure.
Empire
Commander:
Kayn Somos Stormtrooper commander. With an extra option to have him replace a Stormtrooper leader mini and do some cool stuff for that squad, having his and or and adjacent trooper unit fire twice something like his firing squad ability
Special Forces: Could we see Boba Fett as a Special forces Unit? More Likely Scout troopers I guess.
Support Unit:
E-Web Gunner. (on the as yet unused 50mm base)
Rebels
Commander:
General Solo + Chewie Upgrade. Chewie Will be able to attach himself into Corps or Special forces Specialist slots
Special Forces:
Rebel Commandos , or maybe 'Endor Strike Team' Leaving and option to Use Rebel Commandos for something later on.
Support:
Something to counter/match the E Web nothing springs to mind
What I expect based on past FFG titles and interviews:
Rebels
Commander: Han
Spec Forces: Rebel Saboteur
Empire
Commander: Boba Fett
Spec Forces: Scout Troopers

I would be A) surprised and B) disappointed to see Boba Fett as an Imperial Commander. He's a hired bounty hunter, so I could see him being Spec-Ops, but not a commander.

Not saying it's what I want, but it is what I expect.
There definitely should be commanders. Its the quickest way to add more variety to list building. (With 2 commanders on a side, you have 3 different possible combinations, for example: just Vader, just Veers, or both Vader and Veers. A third commander doubles the possible combinations.)
I would expect Han to probably be next for the Rebels. For the Empire its harder to say, but if they are sticking to OT characters Tarkin seems likely. I guess Boba Fett is possible... Of course, in Armada some more obscure characters showed up pretty early, like Garm Bel Iblis and Admiral Screed, so who knows?
I definitely agree about the commanders. There will probably be at least one new one for each side per wave.
I definitely think spec forces will be next. Hopefully at least one for each faction. I'd almost like something like a special weapons team where the whole squad can take a specialist weapon. Like for instance a whole squad of rocket launcher rebels or a trooper squad with all long range sniper rifles. I'd also really like the rebels to get some kind of stealth unit like bothan infiltrators or something.

Or they could jump straight into Rebels with Thrawn or Governor Arihnda Pryce for a female Imperial Commander. Or even release a new or returning FFG original character commander for the Empire.

So Rebel Vanguard and the rumored Scout Trooper snipers?
I am pretty sure we will see scout troopers as a special forces unit. What I hope is that they stick to the 4 man squad with extra trooper and heavy weapon upgrades format for them. Because scout troopers are not just snipers. I hope they act as a fast moving squad with upgrade options for a designated marksman and a grenade launcher.
For rebels we are starting to get a little thin on OT options. They could jump into Rogue 1 units with specforce pathfinders maybe.
I hope they do not introduce a third corps option for quite a while. Each side has a very interesting either/or choice that needs to be explored for a while. I would much rather see another support option.
I would say
Wave 2
General Solo + Chewbacca (general)
Echo Base Troopers (Core)
Wookie Freedom Fighters (spec ops)
Tarkin
Imperial Engineers (with the funny hats that work on the Death Star - Core)
scour troopers (spec)
Wave 3
Saw Gerrera (general)
Saw’s Rebels (I don’t remember their name - Core)
Support?
krennic
Shore Troopers (Core)
death troopers (spec)
Wave 4
General Calrissian?
Imperial Troops - Jet Troopers
Imperial Commander - Kayn Somos or some other Stormtrooper commander
Rebel Troops - Wookie Warriors
Rebel Commander - Han Solo (General)
Do we know that Special Forces is a unit class? And what evidence do we have that there will be Scout Troopers beyond speculation?
Rebel vanguard as special forces.

From the "Orders from High Command" Article on December 1, 2017

Thanks Caimhuel

The evidence for scout troopers as a special forces was an interview with Alex Davy when he did the GenCon demo. He specifically said scout troopers were coming. Whether that was an idea that goes a different direction or when it will happen remains to be seen. But that’s the origins of the speculation that they will be one of the first special forces units.
I think they exhaust OT and, then, R1 before anything else is considered. As was mentioned, known and named heroes from the movies and progressions of Han or Luke. Do not see in the instance of this game FFG leaning into the books, games or other media considered canon until everything possible is squeezed from OT and R1.
Then, it becomes a question of what makes more sense/cents ...
Heading right into all things Force Awakens or secondary/non screen characters from the OT
Not saying I agree. Just saying, if I were running this for the sake of profitability, it is what I would be considering.

As the setting right now is GCW, I would guess the next place they would go is Rebels, as they already have in other games set in the GCW era. They can get the Rebels, Empire, and even "Scum" armies fully fleshed out from those sources.
Force Awakens does not have the depth of infantry for this game, either in the films or new canon EU. In my opinion, barring some surprise massive land battles in episode IX, the next era would be Clone wars for two new armies.
Hmm, Tarkin in officer combat armor (as seen in Rebels) looks pretty much like Veers right now...
