Yellow Command

By magicrealm, in Runewars Rules Questions

What does the Yellow colour mean on the Command holder ? ( blue = Move, Green = range attack, maneuvre, red = melee attack, White = all compatible, yellow = ? )

There is no relation between color and commands. It's usually represented as you are calling, but you can have yellow march or red range attack. The colors are basically to limit the options on the right dial, so it depends on the design of the character.

I would see yellow as 'Special Action' that can't be combined with much

Look at the Wraith dial. They can make two melee attacks in one activation, but only if they attack at initiative 6. The designers also wanted them to attack at 4, but did not want this to be a double attack, so they made the initiative-4 attack yellow so that it can't be combined with the red melee attack bonus action on the modifier dial.

So you say that yellow command can not be modified. That makes sense. i wonder why this is not mentioned in the rules.

We are not saying that. I mean, yellow command can be modified with yellow modifiers. Yellow commands are usually included to prevent using certain modifiers in some initiatives. I dont know if I have explained this correctly.

The color doesn't mean anything thematically, it only controls what modifiers you can use. Blue action = Blue modifiers, Red action = Red modifiers, Yellow action = Yellow Modifiers.

Easiest way to get rules wrong is to assume.

yes, of course. im not sure if there is any unit that has a yellow command and a yellow modifier. white modifier will work too.

Look at Heavy Crossbowmen, Carrion Lancers, Wraiths. All have Yellow modifiers. And a lot of units have Yellow actions with White modifiers.

Yellow is just the 'next color' it appears. They tend to put most moves in blue, rally/shift/reform in green, attacks in red, and then yellow is the next color for whatever :)

Green is more for "secondary moves", which shift and reform frequently fall into.

Rally is squeezed into whichever category has modifiers fit with it the most, which is usually green for Daqan, but all over the place for Latari (blue x3, green x1, yellow x1, and as a white modifier) and Waiqar (white modifier x3, green modifier x1, green x2, yellow x1).
