Map

Sharing my ultimate version of the galaxy map

10 mega pixels square, you can print it at 90x90 cm and use it for rpg or xwing

Galaxiev1.6.3

Odd. It's just 10MP, I am handling often 24MP files, still my browser is choking on this one.

Hmm 10,000 x 10,000 … that's 100MP not 10.

That what the square stand for after the 10 megapixels :)

I am out of words.

Are you planning to account for the planets from the new movies? Ach-To, Cantonia, Crait, D'qar, Eadu, Hosnian Prime, Jakku, Jedha, Scarif, Wobani? Planets from Star Wars Rebels such as Attolon, Garel, Lasan, Lira San, Lothal, Malachor? An indication of where the Rishi Maze is, since both Rishi and Kamino are a big part of the Clone Wars?

Don’t try to ruin such a great map. Please don’t.

Not trying to ruin anything just curious if there are plans for expansion. If so I'll keep watch on it, otherwise I'd rather stick to the ffg map that's been updated by kainrath to include all the planets.

I believe you are Art-is-self considering the comment is almost the same.

I'll repeat my answer.

Malachor and richi are already on my map. the remaining is canon only and i won't add it on this specific map, but i might consider to start a new map with only canon planets if enough people are interested.
Also, i might need the help of people like you as i don't really like the new canon and i won't buy any of the books/movies from it (except for rogue one) and can't trust wookieepedia for the same reason i can't trust FFG's map.

FFG is mixing up canon and legends planets on the map, since ffg rpg is "canon" (for how long, some planets doesn't make sense), wookieepedia is mixing canon and legend, i don't want to make this mistake.

I kinda just posted twice not thinking about it. Makes sense. Jedha, jakku, hosnian prime, lothal, d'qar, cantonia, eadu, wobani, crait, a lot of them are brand new. Some though, such as Ach-To, are located in almost the exact spot as legends planets (Ach-To being where Rakata Prime is).

From what I understand, the FFG map is kind of a copy of the Essential Atlas map, which is supposed to have the true locations of planets.

How would that be ruining it?

Heck, even if you utterly despise the new canon, having a few new names up there really wouldn't ruin that map. (EDIT: Really? They censor the word that starts with H that is the opposite of Heaven? Oh well, heck will have to do.)

I'm willing to bet that you don't even know 100% of the planets on the map in the first place, so what difference would it make if there were a few new names from the canon that you don't like? Most likely you won't know most of those names either.

Great looking map!

I concur with GroggyGolem in that having all the planets from the new canon would be great.

But then it gets be confusing about what’s Canon, what’s Legends, and what’s both.

I'm not really into mixing up canon and legend planets in the same map, but i guess it's not much time consuming since all i need it to make all 6 layers visible (planets, names and "over planet" (some planets, satelites and shipyards)).

for rakata prime and ach-to, i noticed it, but it's true, rakata is in the unknow region while achto is near the border but still inside the mid rim.

groggy, are you talking about the map inside the 4th core book ? If yes, i would need it... to use it.

Kainrath put it togethet

Link is here.

That's the thing, though...

There's a heap-ton of Canon planets already on that map.
Coruscant, Alderaan, Tatooine, Geonosis, Ryloth, Hoth, Bespin, Endor, Naboo and more are all Canon and all on that very map.

So the "confusing to mix legends and canon" argument seems strange to me.

I know this is going to come off as a bit hostile, but it sounds more like an excuse to not include "new canon" planets, just because you don't like the new canon.

I mean, it's your map Lycia, so it's your choice.
It just feels like a bit of a wasted effort to go through all that work just to not complete the map.

I would say this:

Just create two, completely separate maps: one with every Canon planet, one with Legends planets. (A complete map would be impossible) Obviously, shared planets like Coruscant, Tatooine, and Naboo would be on both maps.

This is what i was thiking about and what i'll do in a first time.

Even in french i might get to direct here... a bit like you. Don't get it personnal, i don't (even if it looks like it).

Coruscant and ryloth were created in the EU (the one named legend now), it's only after that lucas had the idea of using what was in the eu to add it in the movies. The same goes for kashyyk and correlia (i believe we'll see it in solo).

you can't say the planets shouldn't be on the map because they are canon, it's a bit like saying "why thrawn and luke skywalker are in 'heir to the empire', it's not a canon book!", it doesnt make sense, right ?

However, if you say that kyle katarn and jan ors should be in the canon univers, it doesn't make sens since they were replaced by cassian endor and jin erso as the rebels heroes that stole the death star plans.

if you can share my feeling about the two exemple i just gave, you can understand why Yaccarus and my self doesn't like the idea. It's not about disliking sw7-8 but because a "cross over" between the two starwars doesn't make sense.

anyway, i said that once the two maps are done, it's easy to do it.

ps : i just noticed that the autocorrect change the meaning of something i said... rakata and achto are NOT in the same space, it look like it because they are close and in an empty space, but one is behind the rim and the other one inside.
