Where are they from?
Look like literally exactly like Protectorates from Xwing, yet, like. Huge.
Same design, just bigger?? (really weird.)

Clone Wars and Rebels.
They are a Mandalorian combat dropship/transport, that allow Mandalorians to directly disembark from troop-racks via jetpack.
They are from Rebels, and yes, they are essentially a larger protectorate fighter.

A place holder for the squadron that should actually be there. Gunboat. ?
Rebel view: Target practice
Imperial Navy view: mercenary scum of a type we dont need!
Yeah, they are from the Clone Wars Mandalore arcs originally. It was later used by Maul (when he took over Mandalore) and in Rebels for the Supercommandos, the mandalorian clans and Maul. So it's older (seemingly both in and out of universe) than the Fang Fighter which was introduced in the Rebels episode "The Protector of Concord Dawn". So actually the Fang Fighter is an downscaled Gauntlet.

Down scaled ?
Yeah, corrected it.
They're auxiliaries. They aren't as freelance and untrustworthy as money-fighters, but too specialized and uncommon to be mainstream.
Also utterly random enough for me to never have heard of them. And I even have watched some Rebels on occasion...
I kinda wish this was that really chunky looking disembark cargo Shuttle from Rogue One. (Krennick's shuttle seems to want to do something else)
How many new shuttles are there now?
Upsilon
Rogue One Cargo Shuttle
TFA Leia's shuttle (Bwing looking thing)
Krennic's shuttle
Shuttle that Rose and Finn stole and crashed into Crait.
Shuttle used to go the casino Canto Bight
Shuttle used to leave Canto Bight
Some of those shuttles are one and the same. TFA leia's shuttle sans crew module is the same shuttle Rose and Finn landed at Canto Bight.
The Sentinel class landing craft started off in Legends but now seems to have been more of a workhorse shuttle than the Lambda, seeing service in the outer rim long before a Lambda showed up. I'm just disappointed we get more bounty-hunter esque squadrons for the Empire and not more glorious Imperial war equipment that is well known and liked (Like Escort Shuttles from TIE Fighter, or the deadly ATR-6 assault transports).
@Norsehound Well there are actual imperial Gauntlets. Since the Supercommandos are an Imperial unit there transports are most likely too.

Exactly what I've been trying to say. Except I really want more canon movie shuttles to show up too.
What is the Rogue one cargo shuttle called?
Let's not forget the TIE/br boarding shuttle and the TIE/sh VIP shuttle (redundant to the Lambda in my opinion). Additionally there is the TIE reaper, also that one seems to be more like an assault lander than a shuttle to ferry stuff and people from A to B.
Double post
