Yea!

Hurray for an actual date!

Swing and a miss

Bummer...

<Sarcasm> Clearly they went with March just for the obvious pun </sarcasm>

Crazy timeline since original announcement. But at least we got a date.

I thought that the Age of Rebellion RPG only giving rules for playing as Rebels would have confirmed that! :D

Reported to Palpatine.

Just requested my time off for the 22nd and 23rd. Getting a 2 full uninterrupted days to paint before the weekend!

@Indy_comHow did you reach him personally? I could only report it to the ISB.

By carrier mynock.

They just fly straight into his throne room.

I sent the message anonymously, of course (and by anonymously, I mean signed by the guy whose job I want...)

The problem isn't that they finally gave us a release date. But I can totally understand why someone would be a bit confused and dismayed at it. I, too, am in the same situation. Adepticon has several events for Legion already planned and FFG is working with the staff to get this game hyped. Thursday, March 22, and Friday March 23 there is a Legion Core Box tournament. I just checked and Friday is sold out and Thursday has 6 openings. There is no way we (and the other 59+ players) can really get their core box to the convention. Many of us pre ordered and will have to have our game and expansions shipped (myself included).

Now, I'm not going to rage quit over this. I am already invested. I love Star Wars and this game not only appeals to me but looks like so much fun. An Adepticon launch is a messy situation especially when you have many events (there are more than just those two I listed) that require you to have your Core Set and you have no way of getting it in time. That's just poor marketing for a minority of those who registered.

About the only thing that I can see that will help would be if FFG gave free copies of the core set to all those who registered for these events.. at a minimum; much like they did with RuneWars last year (although that was freely given to everyone who paid for VIP and Special tickets).

I am hoping that something will be announced soon for those of us who registered. In the meantime... I can focus on my Warhammer Age of Sigmar army and not worry about prepping any Star Wars models for Adepticon.

I hope this date sticks. I hope we don't get another article saying we can preorder Legion along with the TWELVE expansions due to release in 2nd QTR 2018. I love FFG but they really shouldn't have announced this game until just before Christmas 2017. Almost 9 months since announcement to release date.

I have a feeling that the release date was supposed to be early February and something came up. The release got pushed to the 22 because that's the first day of Adepticon and they are planning a large number of Legion events, including a number of bring your own core set. FFG wants to give themselves time to fix whatever came up. That would explain the apparent horribly missmanaged news cycle, they released 4 news articles within 7 days of each other and there is no way they could keep that pace for the next 2 months. Also there are people who say that the FLGS has gotten their shipment in. If that is true it is a bad idea to ask stores to sit on something in their storage that they can't sell for a long period of time as it takes space away from product they can sell. If this last part is true then that leads me to believe that quality control missed something and FFG needs to get something redone. Late March is pushing it but possible due to the Chinese New Year shutdown that happens in February.
