if you are the Minstrel, and you draw, while moving to the Hidden Valley from the Woods via raft bulit with axe,and you encounter 1 Ogre, 1 Goblin, and 1 Ape,,are you able to first charm the Ape? and if you do charm the ape, are you able to use the ape as a follower, and add his 3 strength( Minstrel's ablity of using charmed animal's toughness), along with yours', and dice roll to attack against the ogre and gobin? Or are you not able to use the Minstrel's ability first,,and therfore have to encounter the Goblin, and Ogre, first before trying to charm the ape. I guess my question is, just the questioning time of what happens when you encounter the 3 cards. I think you should be able to charm the ape, before you do anything,,,unless you counter a card, which has 1 encounter number on it , such as a Blizzard. The Ape, Goblin, and Ogre, all have an encounter number of 2. My friend disagrees, and thinks i should have to encounter the Ogre and Goblin first, because i drew them before the Ape, while landing on the Hidden Valley.

The problem here is: when I face multiple Enemies that have the same encounter number, how do I use my Special Abilities? Just compare with Evading ability. Let's say the Elf with Fiend Slayer lands on the Woods, draws two cards and happens to face a Dragon and a Goblin. He may Evade Enemies in the Woods and he has to choose right the way wheter he evades 0,1, or both Enemies. He has to choose now, since the decision affects the combat.
With the Minstrel, you must choose to charm, fight or ignore the Ape before combat starts. If you fight Goblin & Ogre, it means you have chosen to ignore the Ape according to the other Minstrel Ability. You can't charm the Ape after the combat, so you have to charm it before. If you're successful, you have the Ape at your side against the other enemies; if you fail, Ape cannot be attacked but won't attack you. You face the remaining two Enemies.
