Confetti System and Ordnance Porgs

By Muelmuel, in Star Wars: Armada

Another EWS topic!! This time I'm speculating how viable they would be together with Ordnance Pods(ISD, VSD, MC75). Does EWS tend to herd enemy squads into one/two hull zones to attack the target ship, and if so, wouldn't it have synergy with OP, since OP allows another attack on squadrons from one hull zone?

if so, would they be effective on the ships that can carry them? I'm supposing just the flagship since that is most likely to draw the flies. Anyone tried yet? :)

sorry but the title just gives me a mental picture of porgs sat on the front of home one throwing confetti at the on coming imperials .... :P

Why can't I like the title?

How do you expect serious answers after such a title :P

Now I am all about Porgs jumping around my ship and, especially, on the ordnance commands. It's time to add a scatter die to the game!

I think the best candidate for ews would be the 3pt cost mc75 title ship. Empty one side totally, if threatened you just put ews there (but obviously you can use it elsewhere, if...). Im pretty sure ship heavy lists with minimal squads will be on rise with w7(are already), so ews will quickly fade unless some sort of aceholes start to dominate again. But, atm so many comps are viable, it will be down to personal taste to pick def retro.

Apt is a lot more popular, barely seen Acm in London. Kuat might change this though. But obviously, everything has a counter, downside.

I always loved ACM. More damage at the end. Awesome when stacking it relentlessly.

I am sure your idea about EWS will make them more popular than kuat with double ordnance though. :P

A nice crit on a high hull ship is always good, especially if you gotta choose it. It really hurts if your big ship can shoot only once for example;) But, we will se.

I can see myself fielding an interdictor with that new 9 point ion thingie and a kuat with acm. Inter strips the shields, then kuat follows up, I roll, lean back in my seat and just say with a self-satisfied smile: deal with it:D

If only the dictor had two ion slots... but it is still OP

Porgtastic!

Kuat. Screed. Kallus. Quad laser turrets. Gunner teams. Ordnance pods.

Screed lets kallus auto counter 1 damage aces (pre scatter).

Makes it fierce vs squads, but at that point you’ve given up your officer’s chair, hardened bulkheads, and ACM/apt/exracks- I worry it may then have a harder time vs ships.

wait, what am I talking about, it’s still an ISD at the end of the day!

Which is where the difficulty of using Ordnance Porgs lies. how effective is it on the ISD/VSD/MC75 as compared to another ordnance upgrade? And if it is spec up to kill squads, does that cause them to avoid you and you have to go aggressively hunt them instead? OP is still occurring at the attack phase, and unlike instigator the squads(w/o intel) have a chance to flee the OP ship before it fires.

There are 2 builds against which OP pays off imo. bomber fleets where the anti-ship power lies in their bombers and sloane-def-token-removers. These have more cause to attack your OP-carrying-cap-ship

I do like the idea of a OP kuat though :) would it work on a VSD?

The problem with Ordnance Porgs is that, while self guiding, they have a low yield, so you have to make up for it in volume and keeping that many Porgs on hand creates problems even if it does mitigate the need for a ship to take on rations.

I think the appropriate def upgrade is advanced wookie projector.
