The announcement of Grand Admiral Thrawn entering the game got me to jump in. Been a fan of his since reading Heir to the Empire. I recently heard 3 ISDs could fit in a list and I started experimenting on a list builder.

Thrawn with 3 ISDs: 400

  • ISD Cymoon 1, Thrawn
  • ISD Cymoon 1
  • ISD Cymoon 1
  • 2x TIE Defender squadrons

Station Assault, Contested Outpost, Solar Corona are the objectives I'm thinking of. Are there better objectives for this list? Would 4 TIE fighters work better? My strategy would be like Lord Nelson and go straight at them guns blazing. Better have a barrel of brandy just in case. Is okay to use my Lego minifigure Thrawn to mark my command ship's card?

First, welcome to the game!

Second, you will learn to HATE red dice with that fleet, they have some blank faces and they have a bad habit of showing up in force at the moment you most need damage.

3 ISDs is fine, but maybe find some points for upgrades, even Intensify Firepower on one will at least negate one miss.

Lego thrawn is legit, use away!

Thanks, for the advice and the welcome. I will play test a few lists with 3 ISDs until I find my groove.

Nothing like throwing 3 accuracies and a blank with Salvation even with a reroll from Leia....
