Recently i play some games using vassal, my graitfull to the AI's module creator.

I realize the games with vassal go more longer then usual 65 minutes.

So could be possible add a countdown window in the game? So both players can see the remains time.

I have no idea how hard that would be to implement (hopefully shouldn’t be hard) but it is a good idea

I know in most of my games with friends we set a timer for 1:05 but also play slower than usual and just make sure to end the game after end of round three at minimum to at least get a good idea how a real game would actually end.

Don't you have a clock on the computer you're playing on?

yes i have , and i have a countdown on my phone or pad, but in the game would be better.

Yeah that way you could use it for tournaments online officially and such. And no arguing over the same timer

Yeah it’s the idea of having a unified easy access timer in game that’s a good idea.

I'd lean towards only making it optional

I don't play tournaments and I don't care about the time limit. Placing a mandatory timer "the game must finish in 65min" would literally turn me away from IA Vassal

Vassal game usually takes a bit longer to play as well and the LOS tool haa never worked for me so i rhibk i have always had ar least one LOS discussion during every game I've played

Would it not make more sense to set a round limit like the way X-wing Vassal works? IA on Vassal tends to take longer than IA on the table so conforming to the same time limit isn't really accurate.

For Vassal, it might be best to always play to the end of Round 3. That seems to be the average length of a tournament Skirmish match from what I've seen IRL.

Hey, I'm glad you're enjoying playing IA on Vassal!

Good idea about a timer, but alas, I don't think it's possible to set a timer on Vassal itself. In the past whenever I've wanted one, I've always just set one on my phone and communicated that with my opponent.
