If they make Han a commander, he'll likely have a slot to add Chewie as an additional model.
Those both make a lot of sense. Chewbacca as basically a meat-shield for your Han Commander would make sense given his "Life Debt" protection of Han.

Chewie doesn't have any command cards himself, he's basically an extra trooper upgrade for Han with more health that takes all the hits for him.

The challenge with that is the extra trooper upgrades use most of the stats from the origin card, and that doesn't really fit Chewie. Cherie as a special forces and then Han as a commander with an upgrade called life debt that had some effect on Chewie would be interesting.

Amendment: The extra trooper cards we've seen so FAR. Nothing prevents them from listing a differing wound quantity in addition to new weapon type.

True, I just think that Chewie is different enough from Han that he should get his own stats on pretty much everything. Both melee and ranged attacks should be different, there should be different keywords too, for example Chewie should give out more suppression tokens than Han. Wound threshold should be higher as well as the yellow number(I don't know what its called officially). Canonically Chewie isn't so much a blaster sponge for Han, He protects him because most people wouldn't want a pissed off Wookie coming after them.

Just as Vader has an aura that prevents suppression, the extra Chewie should give Han an aura that dishes out suppression tokens.

All of which could be handled with either model specific special rules and a larger than so far revealed Trooper card. Heck, some of those rules apply for Chewie as a Spec Ops unit, so they could just make a special rule on his Spec Ops card that allows him to be attached to Han Solo.

I think that the Spec Ops Chewie would be good. As I said I think he is unique enough to have his own unit card.

The Han Solo commander pack should include a Spec-Ops Chewie, who may be added to Han Solo's Commander Unit as a deployment option.
This would free up your Spec-Ops slot and allow you to keep Chewie's abilities at the cost of a moderate amount of extra points.

@Indy_com Or just ship him with two cards, an unit card and a personnel upgrade card. Thats what they do with the runewars heroes.

Krennic is a scientist not a leader and the good Grand Admiral would rarely leave his ship since he is an admiral, not a general. That said, I have no doubt we will see both since they want their money. Having Krennic would at least possibly allow for Death Trooper squads.

Star Wars Rebels has Thrawn leading multiple ground assaults. He is too good of a character to leave out. As for Krennic, I see him as more of a political officer than just a scientist. I want to paint that magnificent cape!

If they were going to do that, Veers and Weiss were the best candidates. So unless they releases a second version of Veers, or a Commander AT-ST for Weiss, probably not happening.

Additionally, this confer an advantage for measuring distances for orders, as the radius is measured from the commander's base.

Rebels have taken care of Death Troopers only being with Krennic so we should get them regardless.
