Gotta say I am very excited for this game. Even if my group (namely my wife, lil bro, and best friend) are not huge into the actual game, the miniatures are going to be awesome! I used to have a bunch of WOTC Star Wars miniatures I used for the various roleplaying games in the galaxy (WEG, Saga, and the FFG releases), but my storage unit got broken into and a LOT of my stuff got stolen. The only thing I managed to keep was a small box of named characters (Luke, Boba Fett, etc.; basically stuff I didn't want to use for RPGs) and my big ol' ATAT. Having miniatures to paint and build is super exciting and can't wait for the game to be released.

THAT SAID, while I am going to buy numerous Stormtroopers, Sandtroopers, Snowtroopers, and Scouttroopers (and maybe even decal squads or make my own 501), I am really curious as to what commanders are coming out. Luke, Leia, Vader, and Veers are announced. Awesome, but what other commanders are coming out? I would love to see Han and Boba. This is a ground army based game and I can't think of a bunch of military leaders that were boots on the ground for Star Wars. I guess we might see Tarkin or Thrawn, and as much as I'd love to have a Peter Cushing miniature, that'd be a bit weird for me. I'm not nixing it or naysaying the game; more in wonder at what they'll do.

Either way, I'm sure we all have thoughts on what commanders we'd love to see! I know they're focusing on the original trilogy for this year, but I'd love to hear what other people are hoping for! Especially those that were deep into the books and comics. Do you think they'll stick with only the new canon or do you guys think we might see Kyle Katarn or Dash Rendar make an appearance?

I would LOVE to Kyle Katarn and Jan Ors make an appearance in some capacity, ideally as models even if they aren't commanders.

Boba I don't see as a commander, more likely a Special Forces miniature, same as I envision Chewbacca. I would not be surprised if Legion dipped into Rebels for Imperial Commanders, as it would flesh out their named options quite nicely, and add at least one female Imperial commander.

No, I hear yah. Really looking forward to customizing the Rebel vehicles.

I really hope they go into scum and villainy. I love everything for Rebs and Imps released so far, but I definitely want to see some mercenaries. I hope we get some Mandalorian squads to shore along with Boba Fett (as a commander or a specialized unit).

I would honestly want small guys. Not in terms of stature, but in terms of notoriety. I find having the Big Names everywhere breaks the suspension of disbelief for me. Therefore my hope for the next expansions would be:

I second this! That would be really awesome.

I don't know how they would act as commanders, they aren't that "commanding". But since there are two commander slots, maybe not every character has to.
On the other side I could see them also as a Special unit duo. In either case, I hope we can bring them on the table at some Point in the future!

I would like to see Hondo and the Ohnaka gang come in a box set with all you need for an 800pt force led by Hondo. I know the gang was disbanded at the time but how? Did they fight a team of stormies and die/slavery?

Normally I am against scum, but **** yea I would totally make an army for Hondo.

I find it hilarious they censor He11 even though they have a game about in the form of DOOM.

I'd like to see some the characters from the Aftermath books. I've really been enjoying those. Nora Wexley and her team would be great.

Rieekan and Crix Madine for Rebels for sure. Krynnic and Kallus are good choices (though I'd hope Kallus goes hatless).

Really hoping they go easy on the saber swingers.

Now if Phase III Dark Troopers end up being a thing, the Dark Forces end boss could be fun.

Han and Chewie as pair (Chewie has to stay in coherency with Han), Krennic, generic officers like the ones seen on Endor.

Honestly I’d appreciate a generic option or two, as opposed to every commander being a well known character from the movies.

I'm definitely down for Saw Gerrera and do really want to see some generic commanders.

I really would love to see clone troopers, so Rex or some other famous trooper would be cool (Niner?).

Not yet. About 2/3rds of the way through the last book. I'll be sad if the end isn't good, but there were still a lot of things I liked so far. Mr. Bones is awesome. I really liked the way Han and Chewbacca were done. I also really like Jom Barell mostly because they showed what special forces soldiers are like in Star Wars.
