Brunson or Grint on Interdictor?

By Celestial Lizards, in Star Wars: Armada

Both of these cards seem to be well-suited to the Interdictor. Grint can make great use of the 5 Engineering, and Brunson can increase the defensive power of the ship (and it seems ideal for the Interdictor title). Which is better for the ship?

This isn't a great answer but my thought is it depends on the rest of your fleet. There are lots of ways to gain tokens now so if you have lots of other token Generation Brunson would be better. Brunson also serves as more of a deterrent but Grint can be a bit of a deterrent as well.

Also if I am going with Obstical based objectives I'd probably take Brunson where if you intend on playing on a more wide open map then Grint is better.

Both.

+ Interdictor (3)

+ Taskmaster Grint (5)

I would think Brunson would go on your other combat ship that will take advantage of the obstacles that have been moved. Grint goes on The interdoctor that's following to keep that ship from taking even a scratch.

I'd still prefer Yularen over Grint for the Interdictor. Sure, it's 2 points more, but you are guaranteed 3 engineering points every turn even if you want to resolve another command on your dial, and when you do reveal a repair dial, you got 8, just like with Grint.
This is unless you plan on doing all engineering commands, in that case you'll get the same result with boths, but Grint will be 2 points cheaper.

Brunson is purely better IF you are getting attacked by multiple ships / squadrons, and by an obstacle each turn.

Grint is +3 Engineering > 1.5 shields or 1 hull. Brunson is 1-2 damage reduced, twice. Damage prevention is better than recovery to begin with, and Brunson reduces up to 4 damage (plus potentially preventing critical effects). That being said, with Heavy Ions and Wide Area Barrage, the better bet may be Damage Control Officer, for the ability to prevent critical effects, period.

I prefer Veteran Captain over Grint or Yularen, with a banked repair token. You’ll still be healing on two crucial turns, and it offsets the high ship cost just a little. Brunson seems really nice though; maybe she’ll be a good Tua replacement.

There we go!

Staple Brunson to your interdictor card... She is good, between her, title, and scramblers, you are going to save a bunch of damage and make crits incredibly difficult to stick.

No wait... no commander.

Make it a Supression with Ozzel for an even 400.

Sadly there is no room for a commander.

But we have 4 dictors, though, who need an admiral?
