Sato Ordnance Cruiser

By stonestokes, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

@stev This is my take on the Ordnance Sato, inspired by your fleet.

@ Everyone Else: Please critique. I won't have a chance to try this any time soon — there is a local tournament soon with the new wave as prizing, so I'm probably not going to buy the new ships until then...on the off chance that I can beat @Brikhause and @Tirion and all of the other strong competition we have here.

I see what you are doing personally having commander on neb scares me. You might be right on using ranks over my rapid reload as idk how many close range attacks this beast will have. My last thing is with having 3 xwings wouldnt jan be better for keeping your fleet alive?

You could put Sato on the Ordnance boat instead. I'm not sure which is better.

ExRax was mostly just to save points.

Jan would be good, but I'm less worried about losing squadrons than I am about making sure I can move squadrons to range 1 of enemy ships. Two sources of intel will be better for that. My plan would probably be to try to tie things up with the X-Wings, then use Tycho and the HWKs as spotters. You could go with YT-1300s instead of X-Wings to give them a little more longevity. They are there so that the spotters can get to enemy ships.

Yeah i get your fighter mindset and yeah placing commander is hard part one side you dont want all your pionts in 1 spot on oyher neb is glass on its sides.

That is why i have my corvette haha

Drop a combat retrofit to a Transport. Just because you won’t use both transports for combat due to the activation discrepancies of the game.

Then with the points saved upgrade an x-wing or two into a YT-2400. I would then take The other two x-wings and turn them into yet-1300’s.

Tycho and the YT-2400’s will help you get the squadrons in range for the Sato ability while the other squadrons can hold off the storm. Not sure on having two hwk’s but you might find it better. The rogue on Yt-2400’s will help with the rogue to guarantee that last squadron activation to get in ship range.

I don't understand this part. Can you elaborate?

So the point is against a player worth their salt the chances of getting front arcs out of more than one flotilla is rare. So your better off devoting ways to set up key shots with Sato. As activations from flotillas are generally used as setup activations. Even if you manage to get two combat retrofit flotillas in arc on a turn they will just use their activation to zip around you and deny you a second shot.

Ah. But they are there for the blue flak.

And that is a fair point just my opinion is all! I guess I generally don’t feel one blue dice flak as a threat.

True. But which flotilla, the one you downgraded or the one you didnt. Downgrading just makes it easy for them, and we wouldnt want that.

They may have less of a choice if you outactivate them.

I like it, I would drop one of those GR75s Combats to a Normal Transport, add Leia to that and add Draven to the combat flak boat. He will give you 2 blues against many squads with one reroll from Toryn, youre likely to get that ACC and flak the scatter ace down.

You could also go with WAB - at range if for some reason you didnt want to proc APT (maybe youre killing the main target with the current shot anyhow) wide area barrage will be more versatile against squads or ships.

@Tirion is not strong competition. He is just a sneaky cheater! lol:P:D;) A sith lord has infiltrated the rebel alliance......
