How is the freaking E-Wing supposed to work?

It had impact on the squadron meta no doubt, but the individual squadrons as a whole have no effects. When something new comes out that is good for squadrons, it is good for all squadrons . You end up with a case where the good squadrons become better and the meh squadrons stay mediocre .

That being said, if a particular squadron sucks, it will suck throughout the life of the game (unless FFG introduces something that targets specific squadrons).

The extreme irony of this response to a point about Sloane, specifically...

That's funny, before Fighter Coordination Teams and All Fighters Follow Me, I almost never saw any B-wings on the table, and most people I played with seemed to think they were pretty mediocre. Than after the Pelta came out there were B-wings everywhere...

stupid question time.... if you activate a sqn with a sqn command do you have to attack?

Or can you move into engagement with other sqns and go 'not shooting'?

I dont think you can, but a quick flick throught the rules and I didnt see anything that said I must attack it able to

Nope. Nothing that requires you to attack. Plenty of times people just activate squadrons and stay put rather than attacking Shara, for example.
