How to reliable beat NuNuNu, QD?

Tonight when Mrs. Rick and I play she is flying 3 Harpoon NUs with QD, and I'm flying this:

Asajj Ventress — Lancer-class Pursuit Craft 37
Veteran Instincts 1
Latts Razzi 2
Glitterstim 2
Glitterstim 2
Countermeasures 3
Shadow Caster 3
Ship Total: 50
Boba Fett (Scum) — Firespray-31 39
Fearlessness 1
Hotshot Co-pilot 4
Glitterstim 2
Engine Upgrade 4

Ship Total: 50

I'm not 100% sure about the Boba Fett build.

If you fly it correctly (force range 1 first engagement) and know how to use its synergies (block with Boba then shadowcaster title to let Boba shoot at the blocked ship) the list is very strong, but if you just slow roll into range 2-3 you will get wrecked.

I'm planning on just setting up directly in front. 1 straight the first turn, max speed the second.

Then you're already going to be in trouble. If their closest ship also goes 1 or even 2-straight on the first turn, then the best you can hope for on turn 2 is range 2.

4-straight on turn 1, then 3-bank on turn 2. Make sure you set up the board so your ships don't bump eachother or hit an asteroid on the way in.

Don't forget Boba Fett has engine upgrade, so he will make it into range 1 on turn 2 , unless the Nu sets up all the way against back edge.

Turn 1:
Nu moves 1 = 1+ 1 = 2 bases
Boba moves 1 = 2 + 1 = 3 bases
total bases = 5

Turn 2:
Nu moves 1 = 2 + 2 previously = 4 bases
Boba moves 4 + boost = 9 + 3 previously = 12 bases
total bases = 16 (at range 1 assuming both ships setup all the way forward)

Someone pls let me know if my math is wrong!

Math is pretty legit, especially when you consider that there's absolutely no danger of Boba being 'pooned on turn 1, even if he does a 3-straight.

However, a competent Nu player will stagger the boats, and probably block Boba with one, leaving the other two and QD with ideal shots. BOba will get hit by at least 1 'poon, and two unless he and Asajj can PS-kill one of the others, which is seriously unlikely.

So I got to play against a variation on this tonight, 4 poon gunboats. All were PS2 with poons, OS1, and 3 of the 4 had tracers so he could have an initiative bid I guess. Also for some reason he didn't have guidance chips or LRS. Not having LRS made sense because of what he wanted to do with the tracers. I'm guessing he just forgot chips for some reason. Luckily I think there was only one time he needed them in the game, and by then it was basically over anyways.

I was running my current "best" list at the moment, though it's no meta list. But it did have 4 ships that were higher than PS2 with a strong alpha strike, so I decided I would try joust him and he obliged me. I played the rule of 11 better than he did, and it allowed me to kill one of his ships first round of combat, and get a 2nd down to 1 hull. He then made a goof choosing which ship to shoot tracers, as one of the three had my ship just barely at range 1, so he should have been the one to use tracers. So instead of getting two poon shots, he had to do one poon and one primary. The funny thing is the primary set off the poon condition which then killed his 2nd ship since he was at range 1.

After that it was just a matter of playing smart to seal the deal as I had only taken 6 damage to one ship, plus 1 splash damage to another ship while he had lost 2 gunboats already.

I don't think matchups like that will go that good usually. I got a bit lucky in the opening engagement, and a smarter player would probably fly differently as well. Poons are still way too good, and gunboats are wicked good for their cheap cost.
