Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 Announced. (3 new factions?)

By Marinealver, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

I need more money, Space fleet construction and interstellar navigation software is expensive.:(

At least there is not a FTL 2.

Man I wouldn't have thought they'd make another one considering the modest numbers the first did. Here's hoping this one's multiplayer scene doesn't die off so quick this time. Hard to get better when you're only getting matched vs the same 4 veterans.

Yeah, it looks like they are using the same model that was used for Warhammer Total War. Put out a new one with the factions that were left out of the last one. And release some of the minor players through expansions.

Granted in the tau they used the Kor'or'vesh fleet from Imperial Armor 3 instead of the Kor'vattra fleet from Battle Fleet Gothic Armada which is where the Void Stalker came from.

I am wondering how are they going to put the Dark Eldar in, are they going to mix them with the Eldar Corsairs, it also looked like they hinted at some Craftworld ships too. Also I can't wait to see what they come up with for Necron and Tyranid Fleets.

More trailer goodness

good bye wallet

....I need a new comp....badly

I know many tears. I wish that I had all the money. Then all the play, none of the work

I'm tentatively excited... The first one had a lot of potential but the developers refused to change any of their most frustrating designs. I think the multiplayer playerbase died off in about 2 months as a result.

Real shame. They could have had a real gem on their hands if they weren't so goddamn stubborn.

Interesting ... they have some virgin miniatures and assembly instructions ... Tabletop game is supposed to return, maybe this is a clue.

I'm hoping that the dev team does a good job on the tabletop game, not that I need more things to act as potential money sinks. BFG was a great game, but the state of the art has advanced a lot since it came out 19 years ago (!). Armada's maneuver tool would be a great addition. I'm not overwhelmingly in favor of custom dice, but BFG needs to do something about the gunnery table to curb the lookups.

Well firestorm Armada was a table top venue in the form of Ship space combat but it didn't do so well (the company went out of business).

As for Armada I think a Star Trek game would cross over perfectly, but I am not sure about 40K BFG. I mean at least in Armada they did do more with squadrons (it wouldn't make sense not to) but they didn't do that much. I'm just hoping it fleshes out some of the factions a bit more since they were put on the side by Andy Chambers.
